Hi
I've never been to the Botanical Gardens and was wondering if there was a particular time of the year it was at it's best. I like Clumber Park in May / June.

Always worth a visit but late May / early June usually the most colourful.

It lovely everyday when it isn't grey and rainy. I really like it when it is warm enough to buy an icecream and sit on the grass watching the world pass by.

any time at all, IMO.

No matter what time of year you go, there's always something nice to see. feed the squizzies, (or the pigeons if you are so inclined!) look in the fantastic, restored Paxton's glasshouses at the plants, brilliant!

I love it even when it's raining, and even when it's cold and the trees are bare. It's just a lovely space to be in, and has different views, sounds and textures for each season and weather.

Any season will give you pleasure in the Botanical gardens, enjoy them all and use your senses to the full.
The smell of damp leaves and earth can be just as evocative as blossom and warm grass.
I doubt you will be dissapointed whatever time of year you go:)
