Hi

I've heard that there are conversion courses available for secondary teachers that want to get into primary teaching. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of these, or know anyone who has? All information much appreciated.

Failing that, does anyone have an idea where I might get information from?

Thanks in advance.

When I returned to teaching a few years ago there were a number of people on my course who were converting from secondary to primary. I've kept in touch with one of those people and he's now settled as a year 4 teacher in a North Yorks school. He was a secondary teacher before in Sheffield and had completely had enough but he loves his job now.
There are courses in lincoln in Feb but not sure when the next Sheffield course is.

Honey,
Do supply teaching and then that will get you the experience. You can do supply primary teaching with no extra courses. It would be how I would do it. Saves a lot of time and hassle and you get paid handsomely for it.

Worth looking into,

Many thanks, Edna and Ollie. I am investigating both possibilities, and will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.
