I'm going to be graduating soon, and I'm looking to stay on in Sheffield, but hopefully in a studio or flat, either in the town centre, or Crookes/Broomhill/Wakley etc etc areas. Is it likely I could get something for £350 a month tops?

You will be lucky to get anything in Sheffield for £350 per month. Our garage space costs nearly as much as that.

Hi there
I have an attic room in heeley, which is a 10-15mins walk into town centre, I live near the netto and the B&Q, and a minute walk to the bus stops into town.
The house has the following amenities;
Washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, microwave, broadband tv, and wireless internet, shared kitchen and bathroom.
Will be sharing with owner (female) and young professional male, whos been living here nearly three years so it cant be that bad! we are both 34yrs old,
Must be a clean tidy person, (bit of a monica with the house!)non smoker, no pets, eco friendly as we like to recycle, able to cook would be a bonus as we often share meals as its cheaper!! must appreciate music, and xbox game playing!, able to cook would be a bonus as we often share meals as its cheaper!!a healthy eater/ gym person would be ideal as we like to regulary go to the gym.we have a (beer) garden for the summer!
Room is a large attic room in a terrace house, rent is £270 per month, including bills (non including phone land line, this is paid for seperately) Would require month rent to be paid in advance for deposit, and happy to have a month by month basis!
pm me if interested

Thanks for the pm - it's just i'm going to be looking more around june/july time, and i really would like somewhere smaller on my own or sharing, more near the centre.... but i'll keep the info in mind for nearer thetime!
The trouble with that is the nearer you go to the city centre, the more expensive property becomes and you will find it difficult to find month by month rental property as the property in the city is very popular and people rent on a six/twelve monthly basis. You will have to up your budget to live in the city centre and be prepared to rent for a minimum of six months. For a reasonable apartment in the city centre you will need at least £500pcm.

After weeks and weeks of searching when I was moving to Sheffield, I ended up with a studio which costs me less than £350 a month (including bills - well, gas and electricity, I do have to pay phone and council tax on top) - not exactly sure what area I come under but I'm about 15 mins from the Uni, near the Botanic Gardens. Saw a few similar things when I was looking through websites, but it did take some digging!
It is a six month contract though, I didn't see any whole flats that were rented on a month to month basis. The letting agents I rent from do have a few properties, so if you want some more info on them feel free to PM me (not sure I have enough posts yet to PM so you might want to include an email address).
