I have been told that there is a word for the shaping of the underside of tree canopys by buses and lorrys passing underneath them.
Does anyone know that word?
(A different description)
If you look down a road which has lots of trees overhanging it they tend to be shaped so that the buses just brush past them. What is the name for that shaping?

True name for a nicely shaped bush is a Brazilian I think. Dont recommend driving a truck through one though! Although it would have been possible with some of the birds Ive met!

Now why doesn't that ^ post surprise me in the least.....
I would say that Buses and trucks actually coppice trees by knocking off all the lower growths before they can develop, but my knowledge of tree surgery is hazy at best (I know there are one or two experts on SF).
I'd be very interested to hear if there was a special name given to the square cut shape that results.
Not sure what the word is but small children have the same effect :

"NEVER put your arms or head out of a window. You could hit a tree branch or a signpost - or even a car or truck. "
Some wise words on this site

Have found a couple of possibilities
pollard - but this usually crops off the top of a tree
or
colonnade - this creates a overhang as such (best option i think)
