I looked at a room in an apartment in West one last week. Pretty nice albeit expensive. Surprise, surpise the apartment has only one parking space and so there is no home for my car. Is anyone aware of individuals / companies that hire out car spaces in the city centre for the likes of myself.
Cheers

yeh ive often wondered what people do when they rent out one of these 2 bedroom city living flats with only one parking space and 2 cars?
Going into town to shop regularly costs me about £6. What annoys me most is that going in by tram or bus is a real non-starter because of the amount we buy. Do they really want us all to go to Meadowhall?- I am starting to shop at Sainsburys for food and I buy everything else while I am there, even though it is miles away.
Come on Sheffield Council get a grip and figure out where the best interests of Sheffielders lies, especially those of us who actually do pay council tax.

I know someone is advertising a car space on one of the westone notice boards. Might be worth having a look

Ultracynic - is your parking space undercover and secure? I live in the city centre and have had a fair bit of damage done to my car when its just parked in the street. It seems that drunken people think its hilarious to walk across it.
Really don't want to move out of the city centre but need to sort my parking problem out asap. Would be interested in renting a space if it was gonna be secure.

People often advertise spare parking spaces if not just down from west one about a minute walk there is a lock and key car park for £50 a month as well.

If you are an S1 resident you can buy a city centre parking pass from the Council for about a hundred quid. It lets you park in any marked parking bay next to a pavement at any time for as long as you like.
Not quite true. There are a number of developments, mainly student schemes where the residents are specifically excluded from entitlement to residents parking permits.

Yeah I've tried to buy a parking permit but some postcodes are excluded. Apparently is all about when they got planning permission to build or convert the flats they agreed with the council that residents wouldn't be able to have parking permits.
