What's your favourite Tv or movie soundtrack? Do you prefer the original score or the official songs used?

For me it has to be John Williams and the original Star Wars score.

I love Trainspotting and Rocky Horror Picture Show as it reminds me of working late in the lab when I was doing my PhD :P

Donnie Darko isnt bad, and I've heard that Layer Cake is good, so may have to invest in a copy.

I'd agree with the original SW music being a definite class of it's own.

Others I'd suggest, I know it's not really TV or a movie but Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds is another absolute classic IMHO, from the haunting melodies of Eve of the war right to the emotion of Forever Autumn etc.

Apparently many years back they played WOTW on the radio and people actually became convinced it was a real news story of a Martian invasion! :lol:

Still, I suppose it has yet to be proven either way whether or not there's anything out there.... *laughs maniacally*

The Lost Boys & The Crow OST's are good too.
But War Of The Worlds is summat else!!

When I was at junior school every friday morning at 09:00 our teacher would put on WOTW, nearly everyone but myself hated it. I want a full copy of it but have only seen edited versions in the shops, suppose Ebay may have a copy.

Could I recommend, The Big Belowski and Midnight Cowboy OST's.

Lost Boys is my fave soundtrack.. Followed closely by School Of Rock.

The film 'Raise the Titanic' the haunting music playing as the mini sub first explored the wreck.
Although not a personal favorite have you ever met anyone who couldn't remember the opening notes from Jaws
I still check the bath water before dipping a toe

And The Crow OST - was a bit disappointed by one of the songs on there though- the one with the lass frontlady singing in the film.

It sounded brilliant on the film itself but on the soundtrack its cack!

I love a good score myself - the gladiator Now We Are Free has my hair standing on end every time I hear it.

I love to listen to it on flights to/from holidays.
Simply a beautiful score all round.
