U16`s played a friendly today at Huddersfield and won quite impressively 45-7.
Pitty the ref could not abide by the rules.

C'mon Rosie the refs always right even when he's wrong, and there are Referees of various abilities and experience out there. I have seen some right howlers on the pitch. The ref today was great, however, we won 48-0 so I suppose I would say that wouldn't I.
Keep up the good work 16's

It was not the decision he made about what was happening on the field, but how he dealt with talking to a player.

Was he a local club member invited to ref by the opposition?
or a society ref?
whichever, any decision at this age level should be explained in full by him to the players so that they know what the decision is about and that it was fair.No hard feelings should exist between teams, officials and supporters playing friendlies in the ideal world.
It's unfortunate when this happens, but I have seen it myself.
After all our Reginald(forum nickname) was playing at this level last year.

Yesterday the U16`s played at home against Chesterfield.
What a day, with quite a few of the team on District Development, and my son out with sprained ankle and pulled tendon it got much worse.

The Ref did not turn up and our ref could only do half of the game, Chesterfield had a ref that came in at half time but it was his first game. We lost a player before half-time with a tooth being knocked out and so we had no sub`s left.
We played well but with the official making stupid judgements we lost 24-8.

The lads were despondent. Heads up lads its Melish away this coming weekend.

What a fantastic game today away at Melish.
The Sheffield U16`s won 72-5.

Well done lads, keep it up.

Matlock didn`t want to face us today so kind Pontefract offered us a friendly. We have not got a strong side so you don`t need your full squad they said. Don`t believe them if they say this, we left 5 key players at home and used some new players and we lost 17-7.
Ouch that hurt.

Lets hope for a proper League game next week at home against Thorne.

Had a friendly with Dinnington on Sunday and it was abandoned due to a Dinnington player dislocating his elbow and breaking his funny bone.

He is ok but in hospital.

Not posted for a while but they are still winning.

Played Thorne away last weekend and won 51-0 in freezing conditions.

Won Doncaster away the week before this.

Hope we manage to play Bridlington at home tomorrow.

Played Bridlington and won 31-7, my son played for Bridlington because they only had 10 players and so borrowed 5 from Sheffield. All 5 played well and did not help Sheffield win.

Playing Pontefract at home tomorrow, one of two sides they have lost to this season, and tomorrow they will get revenge and win.

For those of you intrested, Pontefract came with the intention of winning again.
They went home, without that win.

Sheffield U16 `s won again 51-0.

Brilliant game lads, well done. We had 8 players missing for Yorkshire and South Yorkshire games and so that made the win even more sweet.

Yet another update.

Sheffield U16`s played Sandal at home. These were the semi-finalist in the Yorkshire cup, beaten by Hull.

We beat them 33-8.

Next game Notts Pavours.

Anyone know how the U17`s did on Sunday ?

Today the lads played Notts Pavours at home.

Some of their players looked a bit older than 16, one had a full beard, anyway Sheffield U16`s won with no problems 47-7.

We go to Chesterfield soon, should be a very close game.
