Moon mikey 09-07-2003, 07:39 Say that they are in the bath and take a message. Water and electrickery do not mix. Why you need to discuss this????:D I guess you did one thing and partner said you should have done this?? Why do people always call when you are either In the bath justing sitting down to eat just about to go out just starting to make love or just dropping off bloody inconsiderate if you ask me  Moon Maiden 09-07-2003, 07:50 I was enjoying a soak. We have a cordless phone and he just brought the damned thing up to me - some flippin sales call. Like they would want to speak to me when I am in the bath??? Isn't the first time he has done it - I just wanted to know if it was me being picky or if everyone did it?? Moon Maiden mikey 09-07-2003, 07:54 No you are not being picky. As a working mother you deserve your soak in peace, without some pratt from BT trying to sell you some call waiting package. robh 09-07-2003, 07:57 Originally posted by Moon Maiden We have a cordless phone and he just brought the damned thing up to me - some flippin sales call. Register with http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tpsC/html/default.asp then for any future telesales calls, if you log time date caller etc and send a report in they are subject to a fine of up to £5000. (Unfortunately you don't get the money). max 09-07-2003, 07:57 Either get in the habit of asking who's calling or ditch the cordless. Moon Maiden 09-07-2003, 08:01 Oh he did ask who was calling - as he was stood next to me in the bathroom. Didn't stop him from standing there waiting for me to take the friggin phonecall :o Moon Maiden robh 09-07-2003, 08:33 Originally posted by Moon Maiden Oh he did ask who was calling - as he was stood next to me in the bathroom. It`s never ever for me, so I don`t answer it! I like giving her the cordless in the bath;) , and she`s learning how to avoid long winded sales pitches from double glazing sales slaves (it`s not their fault!). Obviously I have few friends, and they don`t phone me! max 10-07-2003, 08:33 Other options include: Install a shower Put a lock on the door robh 10-07-2003, 09:01 Originally posted by geoffbowen Who does get the money then? Dunno. Probably Gordon Brown. cosywolf 10-07-2003, 12:31 Mark does it to me. Doesn't matter if you're in the bath, on the loo:? or washing up with your hands elbow deep in suds. He always gives me the phone.:? As for cold calling, I'm on tps so don't get many now. Used to have wicked moments tho...Apparently I sound like a small child on the phone, so when they (invariably) asked to speak to my parents without finding out who I was, I would tell them no and say I didn't know where they were( I know, very bad of me). Or say okay and walk off leaving the phone on the table in a typical child way, or give them my father's long distance phone number:twisted: waxy chuff 10-07-2003, 12:46 Originally posted by robh Register with http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tpsC/html/default.asp then for any future telesales calls, if you log time date caller etc and send a report in they are subject to a fine of up to £5000. Phanerothyme 10-07-2003, 15:23 or you could print this (http://www.xs4all.nl/~egbg/counterscript.html) out and keep it next to the phone. I actually tried it once, the poor fella (calling from call centre in india) got so confused he hung up! robh 10-07-2003, 15:51 Some very funny recorded phone conversations with telesales here http://www.commedia.tv/ |
