i guess this was removed as it had become a haven for junkies but there are still a loady of dodgy people hanging about on the benches remaining there.

Having them removed will only move them onto the park.

I heard there were plans to extend the skate park around there...cant remember where I read it, but there were plans showing the proposed layout

I'd agree that putting some wardens in the area would be a great improvement. Time for a 'reclaim the streets' sort of move by the council?

Devonshire Green has been better since the installment of the eye in the sky but the area you mention could also do with one pointing on there.

If your house is facing the benches you could always stick a webcam on the spot along with a few "your on camera" stickers around the benches.
