Well I've been away for a few days in London and get back to see quite a few things in the paper about Loxley College. One of the articles in The Telegraph on the 10th of September has really made me angry.

In it we have Helen Jackson pontificating on how well the college has consulted with the community, how the hell does she know. I'm part of a community group who have attended everyone of these meetings. I can tell you now that the college is only paying lip service to the consultation process, in order to avoid legal proceedings all I can say is that they have been misleading. To prove the point and let you draw your own conclusion let me point this out. In the article in the Telegraph Alan Biggin from the College states that "As a result of the consultation we will seek only to sell a peice of land equivalent to the total area currently being occupied by the old buildings". For you information this is approximately 6 acres, however if you look on Saxton Mee's website under commercial you will find that the full 22 acre site is for sale.

For anyone interested in this site then we have arranged a public meeting on the 11th of October, 7:30pm at Shooters Grove School. We have invited the college to attend but have yet not had a reply.

Yeah, I was of the understanding that only the Wood Lane site was sold off to develop a housing estate, someone told me last week that the whole lot is going! Myers Grove Lane end as well, and they're moving all the courses to the new Hillsborough campus near Owlerton dog track.
