My brother was on ADSL with Windows 98 but he's now gone onto XP. Why do you ask?

the reason i ask is blueyonder cable, says i cannot have broadband with win 98, only win98se +

That's probably because of the drivers for their modem if you connect with USB.

Which you don't want to do. Make sure they use the network cable, assuming you have a network card in your PC.

But if you're planning to get broadband you really should consider upgrading your operating system to at least Windows 2000. Otherwise you are not going to get the benefit of essential Windows updates and you leave yourself open to attack.

That depends on how you're connecting to blue yonder, if using the wireless kit its connected by USB.

How does this work? Updates are still released for 98! 98 now is probably less susceptable to attack than XP users.

Also you could just get a self install package buying your own ADSL modem which does work under 98 and use that instead of the BY issued one.
