I believe we at the Dove and Rainbow are one of the few places NOT doing a door charge or advance tickets for NY Eve, but be interested to hear about any other free entry town bars/pubs....any one know?

trying to remember last year when I went out to town and can't remember (it was a VERY long night)

there is no actual list but look at the signs in the windows on most bars...they usually spell out the BAD news....others will just try and catch you out as you try and go in without advertising they have a charge!!

Dove and Rainbow is open 2pm until 2am NY Eve.....

NO ENTRY FEE, NO ADVANCE TICKETS, NO DOOR CHARGES!!!!!

12 hours of non stop classic rock, YOU NAME IT, WE PLAY IT!!!! bring your classic rock playlists and hand them over at the bar and we will sort them out...

HUGE selection of bottled beers, Stella, Hoegarden, Staropramen, Carlsberg Export, Heineken, Corona, Sol, Becks, Holsten pils, Old Perculiar, Abbot Ale, Bass, Leffe, Fosters, Carlsberg, and various guest bottles..........

Draught lager CARLING XTRA COLD or CARLSBERG XTRA COLD..
Real Ales for NY Eve, HOBGOBLIN, BLACK SHEEP, COURAGE DIRECTORS BITTER, FLOWERS IPA....plus cask conditioned SCRUMPY CIDER, and dont forget the utterly LETHAL Westons OLD ROSIE cider, which has been known to floor even the most hardened drinkers on the rock n roll circuit

COCKTAIL JUGS £6

Don't forget twin pinball machines as well, (and coming soon by the way, ROCKOLA HARLEY DAVIDSON jukebox!!!)

Nonnas on Ecclesall Road are charging £50 a ticket with a free bar. Suppose it meant to be a little exclusive.

Generally avoid town now on Christmas and new year eve, too much effort. Bet there will be a great atmosphere in the Dove though.

FIFTY QUID!!!!! Its outrageous!!! Exclusive? Who in their right mental state will pay that for a night in an over priced bar!!

Expect to be charged £30 for some places on West Street and Div street tonight, else you wont get in!!
Cant remember which bars it is, my door security agency told me, but forgotten........

Just had a look at the Dove and Rainbow website with the pic's since the re-furb...Like what you have done to it - looks cleaner etc but still a rockers pub  Looking forward to checking it out soon, although I think I'll be at the Washington tonight :)

No place would charge that unless it was a free bar, it would be commercial suicide, stop trying to influence people into going into your bar by spreading lies.
