Hiya all,

Just asking for some help as to how I turn down the fans on my computer as they're making a bit too much noise.

Is there a way to do it through the computer as I don't want to/ can't be bothered to go in to my tower.

I run a windows XP OS.

Cheers ;)

If you mean a software system then the answer is, if I remember correctly, no...

You can get fan control systems that provide a dashboard for fans that are hooked into the motherboard or the panel itself but that requires installing a particular type of fan and obviously having the necessary panel to do it.

A company called Zalman makes quieter PC fans and power supplies.

Should be a good place to start.

You can get a fan bus to change the speed of the fans ( make sure you buy the right type of connector fans). I have one, it goes well with my modded case, and also gives me temperature readings inside too.

A decent fan bus, and relevant fans (LED fans are nice) should set you back about £30

I haven't found Quiet PC fans to be actually that good. They are very pricey and don't make much difference.

As said, you can either add a fanbus, or, if youre confident with opening up your PC and altering a bit of wiring, you can 7volt mod them to make them spin slower.
