Try this:

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=2501&productId=107064

If you have lots of SCART devices and limited sockets.

On mine I have the following setup

Tv has 3 scarts - one to each box.

I then have sky linked to the VCR.

All seems to work fine - I just have to alter the AV settings depending which peripheral I'm using.

It depends what quality you want. I used to have:

* DVD into the Sky box and then Sky box to TV, all with scarts.

* VCR connected the old-fashioned way (TV aerial cables).

The only drawback is you don't get the direct video quality if recording Sky.

Aaaaaaahh the benefits of Sky+

I only use the VCR to transfer from SKY+ stuff that I've recorded onto that so I still get the pic and sound quality.

Just found this on another forum:

Scart Connection:
Connect a Scart out from the TW receiver (TV scart) to the DVD Recorder.
Connect a Scart out from the TW receiver (VCR scart) to the Video Recorder.
Connect a scart out from the DVD recorder to your TV - RGB1/AUX1 slot.

The above process will allow you to:
Record TW on your DVD recorder via Scart.
Record your video on your DVD recorder via RF
Record analogue aerial transmission on both your VCR and DVD recorder by UHF/RF
Watch RGB quality output of your DVD recorder via your TVs scart.

Is this what im looking for ??

Anybody know if the above is right ???

Sounds reasonable but I thought you just had a DVD player not a recorder (see post number 1) also there was no mention of Sky.

If you have a player you would be better off linking your VCR to sky to get the pic quality when recording then link the vcr to TV via analogue input. Link your dvd direct to the tv via scart.

That Materplug thingy isn't very clever according to this...

I think that reviewer was expecting a fair bit for his money.

How is the box expected to know that just because he switched another device on that that is one to switch to? Just think - a telepathic box - would cost a lot more than 30 quid!!!

The set up I have is as follows and mine works fine - my tv only has 2 scarts too so this should work on yours too.

sky box to video, video to TV, DVD to TV, coaxial to video and then to TV.

To watch or tape terrestial tv use ordinary channels on tv and video to watch sky use AV.

I gather this doesn't work with a cable box though as they have to have a pin removed from the scart lead, but it works with the sky box.

OK then, is this possible .................??

Is there any way of connecting sky, dvd, and video to an old TV without a scart socket?

We used to have Video connected to TV via ariel socket, and cable connected to video via scart socket. We now have Sky and a DVD but will be without a TV with a scart socket for a while (temporarily). IS there anyway we can connect it all up without a scart on the TV?

Thanks

Put the Sky in the VCR, the VCR in the telly. and the DVD in the telly. All scarts taken, no problem, toggle between AV1 and AV2 for Sky or DVDs... Alternatively, if you TV has an RCA (white, red and yellow) plug, you can replace any of the scart leads by the RCA.

Connect the VCR to the telly with a coaxial cable (male/female cably thing) but then your screwed with the DVD player.

erm connect 4 way scart adapter to tv scart socket
then connect everything else to the scart adapter by scart leads
things should work on the tvs av channels

or you could plug the dvd recorder into the telly
and plug the scart adapter into the input on the dvd recorder then everything into that and then you can record everything to dvd

Well it's not a 4 way thing it is a scart box. You know like you can buy at argos? Do you think that will still work?
