i put this on the general discussion but it wasnt getting anywhere - so i though i would recieve more help from the crafts!! its fashion afterall

i though it was 40s-50s with puffy skirts but my friends tell me its flappers which is the 20s the striaght flat dresses - but im sure its not that far back??? the web says it was on broadway in U.S at the start of the 50s
the guys and dolls website have images on which show woman dancing with puffy skirts...???
