Who got a pen pal??

Anyone can share your experience with me?:suspect:

I had two penpals, when I was about 14. One of them was from Finland and one from Chile. It was great fun, but we gradually started to communicate less and less, as we were growing up. I think we eventually stopped writing when we were about 18/19. Never given it much thought until now. Wonder how they are getting on? Might try and dig out a few letters to see if I can trace them.

I ask because when I was younger I had loads of Pen pals living in Greece, Italy, Usa, Australia. I got them through a service called the IYS - International Youth Service. I think thy are still running so have a look if they have a website?

I have a penpal, I got it through my Social Studies class in school... there was something about it, and i got the information, and decided to do it. if you go to school, i'd ask about it there. maybe they know something. my pen pal is from Japan.

I had loads of pen pals through IYS as a teenager. I did wonder if they were still going as my 9 year old has decided he wants a proper pen pal. He currently writes to his nan nan who lives about 5 minutes down the road!!
