My friend is arriving in Nottingham East midlands Airport next week and needs to get to Sheffield. What is the best way? I checked nationalexpress.com but their service isn't great (the times and prices). Is it possible to get from the airport by train or another bus?
did it on Friday, there is a bus you can get from the airport to Nottingham station, then there is a train that goes from Nottingham to Sheffield, it is very easy:)

How often does the bus go, how long does it take and how much does it cost? Thanks

there is a bus from notts to sheffield.
with a student card its about £2.40 and takes 2hrs
not sure about the buses from the airport to notts
Easiest way is by National Express coach.
Otherwise there is a bus link to Loughborough station or Derby station, where you can then get a train to Sheffield.
Try www.midlandmainline.com or www.derbysbus.net

If it’s the Stage coach you mean then it’s about £2.80 for a return with an NUS card but it is a horrid horrid bus.
East Midlands is a fair few miles from Nottingham so I'm not sure how much time you’d save by going that route. but the Nat Express coach does go from the airport to Sheffield very regularly.

The best way for travelling to EM Airport is use the new Skylink bus service operated by Nottingham City Transport. It operates every 30 mins from 0400 till around 2300 and takes 45 mins. You then have the option of bus or train from Nottingham to Sheffield
Details are available at www.skylink.co.uk

This is the best option I think. Thanks for that it's much appreciated.
We always take the local bus link from the airport to Loughborough train station then train to Sheffield. No problems.
