Buy a lottery ticket and win big bucks...

Tell a homeless guy that you thought the big issue was still a pound and see if he lets you have one.

Eat it and see how long it takes to come out the other end, or back up...

Give it to a friend and have a smile on your face all day.

Get in made into change and play tiddley winks with a friend.

Sell it on ebay.

Open a bank account.

Get sky installed.

Buy some asprin and scratch little bunny heads on them and sell them in a club (I personally dont reccomened this one).

Buy a pot noodle and see how much you can eat without adding water.

Glue it to the floor in a public place and laugh at people who try to pick it up.

Buy some eggs and cut the box up so u have 3 cups and and hide part of your change under it and set up a display in town, where people have to guess which cup has the change.

Buy a share

Buy a second hand shovel and see how deep of a hole you can make.

Buy a transparent box and a carrot, fill it full of water and make fish shapes

I think that should keep you going ;)

mmmm... ok angel try these

1. Read your pound coin and really get to know and understand each other. Talk to your pound coin - it as feelings too.

2. Take your favourite bestest coin in the whole wide world for a walk in the park.

3. Get a pencil and piece of paper and take a rubbing of your coin, who from now on we shall call colin.

4. Coins are for life not just for beer, so find a magnet for colin to play with while you are at work.

5. Spend your evenings together polishing each other in a caring sensitive way.

6. Spend colin on a bus ticket to my house cos I think I need help again doctor.

Angel... I have a pound coin of my own which i call bernard. we've been together for years and it's only right that i should be friendly toward him and name him, we even have pet names for each other (him goldie... me freaky).

Born in 1985, bernard as been my longtime companian since 1993 when i rescued him from the pavement outside the Rotherham branch of Millets. Some people may find my relationship with a pound coin unusual but we are very happy and neither of us need pshyciatric help beyond the normal everyday electric shock therepy.

Finally... i never struggle for a coin for the trolleys at morrisons! So who's really crazy here!

Selling it on Ebay is about the best idea...you could easily get fifty quid for it and it's a better bet than the lottery. :D

Why just settle for a friend called Colin ? Trade your coin in for 100 new friends all saying 1p on them :P

Also, there are many coins like Colin lying unwanted and abandoned in the street just waiting for a new friend

Ok you got me now... I sit here saddened thinking of all the friendly pound coins that i have let slip through my fingers... letting them be shut away in the darkness of a tray... known as a till draw...

I shall adopt my 1 an only pound coin an name her 'Colleen' she was brought into this world in 1997... I only came across her yesterday... but already she has made a nice home of my purse... This is now where she shall stay an be looked after by myself an many of her relatives who may visit from time to time... If shes lucky lol... If not Colleen will have to make a bond with Mr Flexi ;)

Now i have a problem... What do i do to enjoy myself with no money lol Theres no chance now of me parting with Colleen (we have a bond) LMAO! ;)

(Who needs help now) :help:

This is true but do people really care about the homeless coins in our society?

how often have the wealthy and conceited just stepped over pennies in the street without giving a single thought to their welfare?

be honest.... how many people see the homeless coins on our streets and just write them off as undesireables who must have done something bad to get where they are?

OK now I feel really bad - up to now all pound coins have had a meaning in life - to make shopping trolleys work.

The other day I traded my remaining quid for one of these things [but for a different charity]

http://www.toast-uk.org.uk/webapp/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=viewnews&id=94

Basically, the metal disc takes the job of the pound coin in the trolley. Now that pound coins all over the UK are becoming redundant in the supermarket trolley line, what are they all doing ? Do they still feel wanted ? What alternative roles can they play in the great scheme of things ? Have they taken early retirement ?

I never see a penny go homeless...

'see a penny pick it up... all day long you'll have good luck'

I have a home for all penny's 2p's and 5's... there one huge happy family now... they have been living together for years now in their 7up money (home) box... ;)

ok... so the campaign starts here to clear our streets of unwanted coins.

We hereby pledge to give homes and retraining to our redundant pound coins.

We shall love and cherish them, we shall begin our campaign right here and I, as self elected 'Protector of the Coins' vow to give a good home to all your unwanted coins.

I shall cater for their every need until their retraining is complete and they can be freed into our society as respected and admired tools of alchol purchase.

I call on all of you to help this worth while and selfless act of citizenship.

Yup, no more fumbling around for a pound coin - just don't forget not to give your trolley to someone when you have finished - as you'll leave the "Thank You for helping the so-and-so charity" disc in there. I have two - one for helping the blind I think - an orange smiley face and a second from the Greenwich and Bexley Borough Hospice.

I hear that in the UK today there is an estimated £ 100 million worth of foreign coins left over from holidays and dumped unwanted in drawers, nooks and crannys, and perhaps even worse, discarded down the back of sofas. Is there anything HSCA can do for these poor unfortunate souls ?

HSCA is an equal opportunities organisation.

All coins will recieve the same level of care and retraining regardless of nationality, race, religion, gender or sexual preference.

Have a wander round Heeley City Farm one weekend. Have a refreshing can of organic orange juice for 80p, donate the spare 20p to the CCTV fund, go home feeling good:thumbsup:

(CCTV Fund is to help combat recent vandalism. They need to raise £2000)
