View Full Version : The Carbon Credit - Is this the key to Early Retirement for millions ?
johnphilip 12-12-2006, 16:06 Just seen this proposal by David Milliband, seems interesting. It appears that If I use lots of carbon I will have to buy more Carbon Credits.
Am I reading this wrong?
If I don't use alot of Carbon, I can sell some of my Carbon Credits to someone who does Pollute (uses lots of Carbon Credits).
Now this could be just the thing I'm looking for, I could pack in work, sit at home enjoying the easy life, and then sell my carbon credits to my neighbours, there is one who is a Kitchen Fitter, he drives a dirty Van polluting everyone, another who is a Sales Rep, Driving up and down the country IN A CAR..... USE A PUSHBIKE MATE
How much will each credit be worth? I could make a fortune, selling credits to all the idiots who work

Yes because a sales rep is really going to travel all over the country on a push bike aren't they? :loopy:
SupraSteve 12-12-2006, 17:04 That would work, assuming they are worth anything (they won't be worth much TBH) and you never want a new kitchen from the fitter you mention, and never want anything delivering to your house/local shops/etc, as any costs associated with carbon credits (aka yet more tax) will ultimately be paid for by the end user (you!), not the provider.
Think again.
there is one who is a Kitchen Fitter, he drives a dirty Van polluting everyone,
That soot coming out of his van when he goes up hills will be particulates which kill children and small kittens, but not carbon and therefore he will be OK and not have to pay.
You will probably find (if its worth speculating at all at this stage) you will, say, only get a couple of K's worth of credits a year so arnt exactly going to be able to retire on your proceeds even if you live in an unheated cave.
is this a tax on the air we breathe out? thats got lots of carbon dioxide in

That's exactly what it is. Another tax from this evil, sinister, obnoxious government. :loopy: :suspect:  :gag:
