If you are an online shopper, then why not raise funds for Sheffield Samaritans at the same time, without costing you a penny....

easyfundraising is a shopping directory listing some of your favourite online stores. All you need to do is logon to the easyfundraising site (http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/uk/sheffieldsamaritans) and use the retailer links provided whenever you shop online, and at no extra cost we’ll receive up to 15% of every purchase you make – it’s that simple!

You can shop with Amazon, Tesco Direct, Toys R Us, John Lewis and over 300 online stores, and it doesn’t cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds in this way. In fact you can even SAVE MONEY as many retailers give exclusive discounts, special offers and even ‘e-vouchers’ when you ‘shop-through’ the easyfundraising site.

If you shop online ANYWAY why not raise extra funds for us by using this completely FREE service. Register before 31 December 2006 and there’s even a FREE-TO-ENTER competition to win an IPOD.

Yup - we've now got nearly 40 people registered and have raised £35.50 in just over 2 months. It's never going to make us rich but it will pay for small expenditure like light bulbs or loo rolls and every penny counts.

'Bump'

An excellent charity to support; I've been feeling REALLY DOWN lately, and although I'm far from the kind of state that many 'clients' of the Samaritans are, I'm considering making an appointment with them.

I don't have any credit in my mobile, so I can't ring their hotline (Or do they have an entirely free number?), but I was considering dropping into them to talk things over in the coming week. I know they're based somewhere on Queens Road, but where, exactly is their office where you can drop in? It would be useful if someone could tell me.:help:

I think their new place is just opposite the retail park on Queens Rd,and I only know that because I drove past when Roney Robbo was doing his BBC show live from there.

http://www.samaritans.org/centres/displaycentre.cgi?bcode=SHEFF tells us that they can be found at .....................

272 Queens Road
SHEFFIELD,
South Yorkshire
S2 4DL

They are also open 10am - 10pm, but I don't know if you have to have an appointment. Perhaps Katya will know more?

Hi Tyranna

Owldad is right in that we are at 272 Queens Road, opposite Netto and Poundstretcher.

We don't make appointments but you can drop in at any time between 10 am and 10 pm - if we don't answer the door when you call, it means we are on the phones and we will get to you as quickly as we can. Hope you do get to see someone.

If you find it easier to talk on the phone, we can ring you back - I think we have a deal with BT that allows us to call mobile numbers at a special rate so long as we speak for less than an hour.

You don't need to have suicidal feelings when speaking to us - we're there to listen to anyone who is going through a bad time and wants to explore their feelings.

Hope this helps.
