Hi,

Passed Mosborough Parkway about 20 minutes ago and there were police everywhere including a riot van. Couldn't see an accident or anything but they had thier HUGE torches out as if they were searching and they appeared to be looking through all the woods surrounding it.

Anyone know whats going on?

LOL... it really didn't look good. They seemed to be combing the woods... is it Shirebrook Wood or something like that?

They cordened off part of the road to pull over football fans on the way back from the ground to breathalise them and check they had the relevent documentation.

I was just in a car that got pulled. They seemed to be pulling over any and every car that had people displaying football colours.

We got told it was part of Operation somethingoranother leading up to Christmas.

Yep, it was a Monday night evening kick off (8pm) as it was on Sky TV (Sheffield United Vs Aston Villa). 2-2 if anyone cares :)

Good job they aren't still looking for any real crim's (like the Ripper, Al Queda, etc)...

...'cos if they were this sort of thread would be really useful for the bad guys to evade justice.

Operation lets waste the tax payers money on ****** cos there was a bit of a hooligan issue in the 80's! Pathetic.

Exactly what documentation is required when watching a football match these days?

The helicopter followed by two police cars (sirens and lights blaring) chasing a ford mondeo whizzed passed our house in Thurcroft last night just after 11. Wonder if they're related?

The helicopter followed by two police cars (sirens and lights blaring) Wish I'd seen that, do the police cars fly through the air a bit like Santa's sleigh?
