Me too Pinkace...for many reasons. I have one MAJOR reason why this should be my best Christmas ever, but as it stands, I just wish it would pass me by.

Why should you? Its only early. See how you feel on the 22nd when work finishes (if it does). I've got exams, essays and performances to finish at uni, so i've got more on my mind right now than who i'm gonna send cards too.

Is because you have to spend the day with people you’d rather not, and spend lots of money you don’t have on presents and receive a load of usless c*ap in return?

It's too early!

Give it until teh 21st December - then atke it from there.

List a few things YOU want to do for yourself, or some things you'd like, and buy yourself presents! Don't feel pressured in to enjoying Christmas because youfeel you have to - just let it come!

Good Luck!

You know I felt just like this up to two years ago.I used to loathe Christmas, decorations, cards, shopping and most of all cooking Christmas dinner. Then my mom died, and I realised that each Christmas Id had her for dinner, and suddenly she wasnt there. I didnt want to waste hating any more Christmases, and started to see the beauty in Christmas. Just enjoy it wether with family or on your own.Next year like the 16yr girl with Leukemia who wanted to spend her last Christmas with her family,we may not be here.

Well said...

I do agree though that things can be so stressful, the real beauty of christmas is lost with the stress that the commercial arena brings. However, for most people, it is about spending time with families and even though there are probably more arguments and tension on christmas day (!) it is one of those days where most families at least spend it together. I can't wait for christmas to spend it with my family and relatives who live at the other side of the world...it's about seeing the smiles on my little ones faces with the wrapping paper and lights (not even the presents!!!)...

Do you watch 'Futurama', Jabberwocky?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xmas_Story

You might enjoy joining in with a few verses of 'Santa Claus is gunning you down!'

"He knows when you are sleeping,
He knows you're on the can,
He'll hunt you down and blast your ass from here to Pakistan.
You better not breathe, you better not move,
You're better off dead, I'm telling you, dude.
Santa Claus is gunning you down!"

Perhaps because the 'festival' is still a fortnight away ? The hype starts much too early these days, - when I was a kid the decorations didn't go up until Christmas Eve, and the 'shopping' would not have been done until just a couple of days before that. The only early indication of Christmas was the making of the Christmas pud and cake, which was done about this time.

There's just too much pressure in the media and in the shops which seems to get into top gear from 1st. December and I'm sure it's starting to put a lot of people off.

Anybody else fancy joining pinkace, Jabberwocky, and me this Christmas.

We can start the festivities(?) by stoning the carol singers on three streets of our choice. We can then move on to disconnecting the lights on all the houses, then if it snows we can pee all over so that when everyone gets up it will be yellow.

The best bit though will be when we buy up all the batteries from all the local Patels', Singhs' etc in Sheffield so that there are none for dads to buy at 8.30am in the morning. Oh, how we'll laugh. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Merry soddin' Christmas.:( :(
