Heading towards Chesterfield there were so many fire engines, police and ambulances. Anyone know what happened?

The weather conditions were atrocious this morning and it was so dark - was this a case of excessive speed in awful conditions?

Not wishing to be rude...but does it matter?

If it's serious, it'll be on the news.

If not, it wont.

This is not directed at you peardrops, but the public's fascination with death and destruction is why there are so many associated collisions at accident scenes caused by rubber-necking..:loopy:

I think rubber necking should be compulsory and then people might see what accidents are actually like and take more care.

I don't know about rubber necking being 'compulsory'....but I think following a test pass, a trip to the morgue to see a post mortem, would make people think twice about how they drive...

I was in Iceland and there were 2 cars which had been in a massive multiple fatality accident up on a stand at the roadside with a sign telling passers by what had happened.

Good God, last time I go shopping there.

Sorry, I know that was not called for in a serious discussion. I just couldn't resist it ;)

I was going to put Reykjavick (no pun) but I'm not sure how to spell it.

I'd driven from Nottinghamshire and the weather was the worst I've seen in a long time. When you hit puddles at speed its like hitting a brick wall. Was very scary.

Hope your cousin is OK - the cars completely replaceable.

{Apologises for being a rubber necker even if it is via these boards and not on the roads :( }

I'm glad your cousin is OK...

...but it looks like the English language was involved in a pretty serious accident on this thread too...
