Before they hit 30 their sense of humour has just about curled up at the edges, and by the time they're 40 their figures are struggling with gravity, their skin starts to look like distressed leather, and I won't even mention wizard's sleeves. Men, on the other hand, continue to mature like a fine wine, well into our later decades. Harleykim 10-12-2006, 16:30 I hope never! I don't want to be mature :( I like being silly and love doing childish things. redrobbo 10-12-2006, 16:52 Well someone asked when men mature so I ask you, when do women mature?!? Then i had to mature even more when we had our baby. With two kids ,one at 3 and a new born and my partner working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week at the time i had to grow up. And i think i'v grown up even more now im at college i also it think it depends on friends and their maturity. I have loads of very mature friends and i have some that are not mature. I never realised they was not mature till i made more mature friends. Charlie I guess it is true that you have to grow up a lot when you have kids and get married and all that palava - I'm putting it off as long as I can :P There is a world of difference between happily confident and stroppy self-righteous mares. That's very true, I think as you get older you gain more confidence and learn how to be happy within yourself, I'm looking forward to that side of being mature, when I stop having strops when my hair goes wrong  :hihi: x MrH 10-12-2006, 18:36 Like Stilton - when the blue veins show? donkey 10-12-2006, 18:59 There is a world of difference between happily confident and stroppy self-righteous mares. Only joshing. Rivelin6 10-12-2006, 19:08 Actually Norbertcolon women mature at a very young age unlike men but if you mean age then all the women I know at 50 are in alot better shape than men at the same age. We are more mature, stronger in many ways, age better and live longer- glad I'm a woman. NorbertColon 10-12-2006, 19:41 Actually Norbertcolon women mature at a very young age unlike men but if you mean age then all the women I know at 50 are in alot better shape than men at the same age. Women mature mentally earlier than men, just as they age mentally earlier than men. They also lead their opponents in the time in the physical stakes, such as it takes them to start to benefit from wrinkles, develop varicose veins, grow lardy bodies, develop hormonal problems and generally become ‘old’ ahead of their time. A little more time spent in the squash court, on the golf course or out on the hills would benefit them far more than wearing a dip into the sofa watching soaps. rubydazzler 10-12-2006, 19:54 pass me the Rennies, I'm repeating myself :D rubydazzler 10-12-2006, 19:55 I do hope I didn't hit a nerve. Ah Nobut, Yesbut, Nobut .... you poor thing .... I do find you so vastly entertaining ... please don't go too far and get yourself banned though will you? Rich 10-12-2006, 19:55 Women mature around the age of 12/13 iirc, well that's when they start to get their *ahem*, bits and pieces anyway :D NorbertColon 10-12-2006, 19:58 Ah Nobut, Yesbut, Nobut .... you poor thing .... I do find you so vastly entertaining ... please don't go too far and get banned though will you?Banned? But why? Is this forum not an open receptacle for opinion and debate? It would be a great shame, if not a travesty, if only one-sided views were permitted, without tolerance of contrary or thought-provoking views. Is that really the case on here? rubydazzler 10-12-2006, 20:06 Now as to the serious question that D2J has posed for us ... *ponder* I don't think most women ever mature in the sense of "grow older". Most of us are forced to acquire a semblance of it, because of the the responsibilities of pregnancy, home and family and shepherding the man in their life through his. But once we've got rid of all that heavy stuff and have an empty nest, well we just revert back to the giddy flibbertigibbets we always were underneath :hihi: That's the point at which we jettison the boring old fart in the corner and run off with a hot bit of rough 20 years younger than us ... or if we don't we'd really like to ;) I think that's probably what's happened to poor old Nobut, he does seem rather bitter, don't you think? rubydazzler 10-12-2006, 20:08 Banned? I don't know, I'm not a mod! Your posts remind me so much of someone else ... now, let's think, well known misogynist - who? hmmm! *ponder* It'll come to me ... D2J 10-12-2006, 20:09 Can we get into a serious debate and then pull the thread about 11pm as that is when Hayley will be home :hihi: I'll doubt she'll like some of my comments :help: NorbertColon 10-12-2006, 20:09 I think that's probably what's happened to poor old Nobut, he does seem rather bitter, don't you think?Well, I'm a strong believer that you're only as old as the woman you feel - and she's 12 years younger than my own sprightly age, and not doing bad all things considered. I even let her do all the gardening, such is my support for her quest to stay trim. rubydazzler 10-12-2006, 20:11 Can we get into a serious debate and then pull the thread about 11pm as that is when Hayley will be home :hihi: I'll doubt she'll like some of my comments :help: D2J, now you know the first thing she'll do when she gets in, is ping me - and I shall have c n p'd the entire thread for her to peruse :hihi: rubydazzler 10-12-2006, 20:12 Well, I'm a strong believer that you're only as old as the woman you feel - and she's 12 years younger than my own sprightly age, and not doing bad all things considered. Pheww! *wipes brow with relief :D Rich, if the answer to the OP were purely physiological, we wouldn't even be having this thread. Innit? NorbertColon 10-12-2006, 20:21 Ah bless you, we all need our fantasies :D Don't let the ridicule stop you dreaming your dreams ...???? Why would you assume that? Some of us actually manage that desire you mentioned earlier to pack off the old baggage and run off with the new. And, what's more, I can thoroughly recommend it. D2J 10-12-2006, 20:25 D2J, now you know the first thing she'll do when she gets in, is ping me - and I shall have c n p'd the entire thread for her to peruse :hihi: Best get myself back on the singles thread then :hihi: You'd be out the door faster than you can say Sheffield Forum mate! Don't I know it, should anything happen I shall be appealing for funds to get back to Sheffield (without resorting to Ryanair if possible!) :help: donkey 11-12-2006, 00:09 Pheww! *wipes brow with relief :D ? Stroppy and self righteous, oh and I forgot to say, sarcastic :P Beakerzoid 11-12-2006, 00:36 I guess it is true that you have to grow up a lot when you have kids and get married and all that palava - I'm putting it off as long as I can :P Nah...that's a load of toss. Both my wife and I have become like kids again since we had kids of our own. Learning to see the world through their eyes, and discovering the wonderful imagination that kids have has made us both as daft as brushes again. Yes, you have to take on 'responsibilities'.....but mature? Bugger that for a game of soldiers! Who wants to grow old? No need to be serious all the time. Blink 182 said it right when they sang.. "No one should take themselves so seriously With many years ahead to fall in line Why would you wish that on me? I never want to act my age Whats my age again?" Bago 11-12-2006, 01:11 I actually agree with Norbet Colon (what kind of name is this ?!) here... Please please don't hate me. :help: I wish I'm more immature, and can really live a jolly good life ! Joie De Vivre....ah...do come back. Sometimes. :hihi: I blame my hormones. I have a damn irregular cycle. (The men are excused if you wanna pretend I didn't write this bit.) Bah. More and more cynical like a man everyday ! Moonbird 11-12-2006, 06:25 ???? Why would you assume that? Lucky day for the old baggage the day you left then i would say, but a bad move for the new. A 50 year old man and a 50 year old woman both have 50 year old bodies... but you can kid youself if it makes you feel better  NorbertColon 11-12-2006, 08:54 Originally Posted by NorbertColon ???? NorbertColon 11-12-2006, 08:55 I actually agree with Norbet Colon (what kind of name is this ?!) He's a character in Viz comic - a really tight-fisted old git, not inappropriate for many a Yorkshireman! rubydazzler 11-12-2006, 08:56 could you please explain why you choose to offer me personal affront? You have been communicating your personality and your view of women through your posts, my opinion is that anyone who describes someone who has shared their life as "old baggage" is imature, unkind and no great loss to the said old baggage. hmr44 11-12-2006, 18:11 Nah...that's a load of toss.
