I'll start. I'm currently cross stitch a Husky dog for my brother and a bookmark for an exchange. I'm also quilling somesowflakes for decorations.

Husky dog - this is coming along slowly. I have got the main part of the face done and started on an ear. I have the rest of the head to do and a log underneath which it has a paw on.

Bookmark - This is a quarter done, it is a bluetit one and so far I haven't made any mistakes!

Quilling - I really need to get more patterns for this hobby, I only have christmas ones :hihi: Each snowflake takes me about an hour altogether. Will post a picture when i've got a few done!

Currently working on a cross stitch pic of Tutankhamun mask.
Just finished 4 knitted scarves (lovely fluffy wool, and a really nice 'fringed' effect yarn)

Husky - not really done much on this over christmas and now i've one and lost the main thread I need for it so will have to get one tomorrow:rolleyes:

Bookmark - This is almost done, i'm just finishing the backstitch off!

Quilling - still haven't got any new designs. Made a couple of snowflakes and sent them to a friend and put one on a card but I want to learn how to make fringed flowers!

'Lo. I am currently covering the cushion of my friend's kitchen stool in zebra fabric and adding ears and a tail. It just has to go on the legs now. Rather childish I know but funny in a daft way. My friend asked me to make her one after she saw what I'd done to my desk chair (it has cow hair and horns. No udder). Will get photos up sometime so people can admire/ridicule (delete as appropriate).

I've got a couple of "Works in Progress", ATM, I'm 99.99% finished on a pair of socks I'm knitting for D-W, I'm just struggling with something called "Kitchener Stitch" to close the last dozen or so stitches on the toes of them. I can't gett o grips with it.

I've started a pair for myself, too, I'm only a few inches in, on the first sock.

I'm making another baby blanket for my nephew, it's one of those where you knit in a sort of triangle, starting with 4 stitches, and increasing at the Beg of every row, till it's the right width, then decrease one at each end till it's back to the three stitches again.

The socks, I'm really pleased with, I think they've turned out really well. (thanks, jill, for your help with the heel, BTW!)

well, it's many, many thanks to Jill, at the Woolbaa, with whom I spent the afternoon trying to come to grips with this bloomin' "Kitchener Stitch". (*tears hair out*)

I now have a finished pair of handsome socks, for my chap they look fabulous... and I have to say,

ty, kitten...

I presented them to my chap, and he was well "made-up" with them. The fit is excellent, he loves the colours, and the feel of the 75% wool yarn. Chap is as thrilled with them as I am. I took a photo, to show Jill, at the Wool Baa, as I was so "chuffed" with how they'd turned out.

I have another pair on the go for myself (I'm 3/4 the way down the first sock of the pair, doing those in an "opal" yarn, in denim blues, tweed and a pretty green mixture, (again, self-fairisle-ing yarn. looking good so far, not quite at the toe shaping yet.

my next project will be a pair of gloves for a friend in the sirdar town and country "harlequin"

I have drawn and painted the Bratz kids ready to join into the 2 patchwork quilts for 2 of the G,Grand kids and I have made a dozen dolphins to aplique onto another GG Kids quilt. At daughters today I cadged a pattern to make a jacket for myself as I have some japanese material which would look good. I am amazed that we are now in the forth month and that is all I have to show for it.

I'm currently working on a cross stitch butterfly to go on the wall of our new home when we move (have 1.5 wings done so far and a feeler) and have a funky fur scarf about a third of the way done.

the 1st 3 are for a demonstration I'm doing on creating your own backgrounds for cardmaking and scrapbooking. The ribbons on the butterfly card are created with acrylic paint and a brayer. and the stitches are just permanent marker . the rest is all some of the stuff completed in the last year

I have ceased the projects page and the challenge page due to lack of response. I enjoyed doing it while it lasted .

I've got a few projects on the go at the moment:

- light blue/grey drawstring trousers
- crocheted scarf from the Happy Hooker book
- beading to disguise bad stitching on self-made dress

Projects in planning:
- wedding cards and birthday cards to fill up my stash
- ball dress for July
- beaded jewellry to go with ball dress
- black crepe work trousers
- heather crepe work trousers
- denim trousers

So lots of dressmaking projects ;)

Am finishing a quilt which my nanny started and as she died before finishing it, it is a labour of love, and my mum is looking forward to seeing it finished. It isn't my choice of design (suffolk puffs) but it will be good to see it complete.

I am also scrapbooking my hoilday and cousin's wedding in South Africa - lots of lovely photos, and went to a couple of great scarpbook stores in Cape Town and along the Garden Route of the Western Cape.

Am struggling with my cross-stitch picture of Castell Coch in South Wales, with 17 shades of green (see post earlier on this!).

Also, as I can't sit still and am determined to use up some of my craft stash mountain, am knitting up baby clothes to use odd balls of wool, and a friend has asked me to make a jumper for her 2 year old.

Well, it's no wonder I don't have time for much housework (ha ha) as in between these projects I am card making (quilling, parchment, die-cutting, etc) and sorting out old craft magazines to tidy up the spare room.

Phew!

I have a Pako needle organiser from Wimble Bees

here (http://www.wimblebees.com/pd_A[f]P04[f]700050_PAKO_Needle_Organiser.htm)

As most of the larger pix I do have many similar colours, and many colour changes, I couldn't do without it.

I'm frustrated with my sewing machine right now and wish I was better at hand stitching like you cross-stitchers ;)
I'm reading the forum cos I need a break from my WIP (my machine jammed and then I broke my only size 70 needle :( )
Evening dress was going well but I've only got 2 weeks left and not far from finishing the skirt, however I've not even started on the top! I've cut out the pattern and need to work out what size to make it in curtain lining first and then my chosen fabric.

I want my life back!

I've cut the pattern pieces for the top and marked them up ready to be assembled. Fingers crossed the assembly will be straight forward so a couple of hours a night for the next week and then all day next Saturday and Sunday should have me completed in plenty of time :)

Will post pics as soon as I find my USB cable for my camera!

This is how it is progressing (slowly). The Castle is Castell Coch in South Wales, and may be familar to some as the setting for the children's programme 'The Worst Witch'.

I am aiming to get it finished for my Dad before diabetes robs him of the remainder of his eyesight.

I live near Castell Coch - it's very intricately decorated inside as well. You can have your wedding there - if you have the cash!!!!!! (I think "Charlotte and Gavin" have it on their list of venues - once she gives birth!!!)

maramcp
09-07-2007, 19:07
Family members helped build it eons ago! My granparents did some of their courting there, and their ashes were scattered there too. It is beautiful inside, isn't it! My grandmother was mayor of Pontpridd, and a JP, and my grandfather sang in a male voice choir and was a church reader. I love the area, but it is a real trek from Sheffield!

So, I guess that is why it is important to me that I get this cross stitch finished soon, that and my dad's eyesight is not getting any better...

Its to go on the wall in my boys bedroom. I need to do a wedding card too so I might have to put that by the way side for a few days

I've had a bit of a break and started a bookmark. I really need to finish the others but they are making me not want to cross stitch :(
