I think Alderly Harrison will win by KO in the 7th, Danny Williams has not looked good in his last couple of fights and think he is well past his best. His finest hour came when he beat Mike Tyson.

Harrison has to win, or he is finished as a fighter. This is why I belive he will win

1) Harrison
2) Williams
3) The Black guy always wins, they are as hard as nails

I'm sure Audrey Harrison will win in 3!

You can't go off like that.

Placing bets after the fight has happened

Hi,

Maybe I didn't see it? :)

It was a fight he had to win well if his career isn't going to stall completely, and Danny Williams is only national level after all.

I'm not too well up on Boxing but, if one boxer is black and the other is White, I always put my money on the Black Boxer to win. Thats my formula, and it has yet to let me down.

If the white guy looks a bit of a porker, I put money on a KO victory.

Nothing like a bit of good old racial stereotyping to start a Sunday morning. :suspect:

rubbish. rubbish. rubbish.

Williams's only claim to fame is that he beat a troubled and out of shape Mike Tyson - whilst Tyson had a muscle torn in his leg also. Even then, Tyson nearly knocked him out after only one round.

Harrison ain't a bad fighter I guess, but he was too overly hyped after his Olympic gold. Just like someone else (Khan). Eventually they will both come against some decent opposition and in the end get shown up. I hope Khan doesn't believe his own hype.

Luckilly for Williams, the Heavyweight division has no decent fighters in it.

i agree with ya there. khan was gettin caught way to easily yesterday by a guy who has 5 losses to his name. Im not sure he could handle it against world class fighters.

However i really do think audley could win the world title because he beat up williams a lot worse then Klitzko did (sorry for the incorrect spelling). Im not saying audley is better then him but there is a real hunger now in audley

Racial Steriotyping, you make it sound like I'm being putting them down.

Black men tend to make better boxers white men, the list of world champions proves that, they also seem to be better at Athletics as well.

Anyway, As for Alderly's chances, I think he can do it and I think the people who were booing him after his win should be ashamed. He has come back from Rock Bottom when everyone had wrote him off, the media were critical.

He has proven them all wrong, now can we get behind our fighter ?

For such a huge man he was a disgrace a real chicken in the first fight.

True, but thats in the past.

Even Barry Mcgwinan was eating Humble Pie, and he said, "he was keen to get behind Alderly in the Future" (hardly think it was appropriate for Barry to admit he had urges/feelings on National TV).

Come on everyone, the guys proven himself, now the time has come to support him

Hi,

Looking at the current list of World Champions - http://boxing.about.com/cs/rankingschampions/a/champs.htm - seems to indicate that your statement is incorrect, to say the least!

Precisely my point Ade. Whether he likes it or not he IS stereotyping and some may consider it racist and offensive along the lines that it very much like saying all black people have rythmn, can sing, run etc etc etc. :suspect:

And why would a Black Person be offended by someone saying "Black people are good at this, that.... ?" don't you think they would be complimented?

Its only the PC brigade that gets offended by everything.

Hi,

I once went out with a coloured girl who swore that black atheletes were better runners because of their lower natural body fat levels......I asked her if that explained why they weren't very good swimmers! :)

Until not too very long ago, all the heavyweight champs were Russian or Ukrainian.....and I think we can expect to see a lot more good East European boxers now that their access to the West is more open; it's a bit like the situation was for a lot of American boxers (who mainly happened to be black because of the social/economic situation), where it's a route out of poverty...it's the same now for the E Europeans who are now in the EU or whatever it is.

i've heard a genetic theory, but its alot more basic.

When the slave traders were taking black men and women from the West coast of Africa they would obviously want the strongest and biggest. Even if the trader didn't purposly choose strong black men/women, the journey upon the slave ship was so appaulling that only the strong survived.

To say that one race is better than another at a sport though is stupid. The stats obviously show that as shown before. Its not what colour you are that wins a fight, AMAZINGLY its how good you are a boxer.

Upon arrival in the carribean or in the Americas they obviously began to breed again, creating a whole black population from the genetics of strong blacks.

The plantation work was also arduous and hard, and a the same "survival of the fittest" effect on the population (but in a very very smaller way).

agreed that amir has a lot to learn, and to be honest a defeat might even do him good, but come on, he's in a different league to audley! amir's just starting out as a pro and will learn, audley doesn't appear to have learnt a thing and beating a washed up williams proves nothing...
