Don't know about everyone else but I look at some post requests for things and it strikes me that some people are just bloody too lazy to search for something properly and exhaust most options before asking for stuff on here.
Personally if I was looking for something specific..say karaoke music first place I would look is google..do a search and suprise suprise 1000's of sites...job done!!
Asking where a place is..one word...MULTIMAP.
It seems we are all to quick to just expect someone else to find out information for us. I can understand if you have done extensive searches over the internet and looked through Yellow Pages or something and still can't find what you are after but I find with most things it just takes a google and you will pretty much find what you are after.
I can also understand recommendations for builders etc but just asking 'does anyone know of a plumber??' is just being bone-idle.
There is a lazyitis epidemic at the moment.

Well, you might see it is 'lazy-itis' but that is because you are so 2nd millenium.:)

I think the reason that people prefer to ask people, rather than machines is that whilst the replies may be more fallible, the responses offer much, much more than mere dry information.

Also multimap, and to a lesser extent, google don't offer much opprtunity for serendipitous connections to be made, in the same way that a random self selected group of individuals do in a forum.

I was going to attempt to write a witty retort to this post but I can't be bothered.

Not everyone who uses this site is net savvy Wibbles.

Perhaps this is just a blonde thing but I had real trouble finding my way round the net when I first started it is mind boggling.
