Well Lager and lime maybee...

But I too have seen them about while driving - the first time I saw them I cleaned my glasses, the second time I considered cutting-down on the online hours.

The third I considered them wierd and ignored them. :)

Well, I saw one stuck.

If my observations are correct, it should alternate between the destination and the "line".

But a destination board stating nothing but "Salmon Line" is of no use to anybody, save for first employees and freshwater fishing fanatics

In York there is a White line (presumably used by media executives) and a Brown line (perhaps it's a very scary journey?).

I like the way they have produced Overground maps (in the style of London Underground maps) which this is obviously related to - although maybe 'proper' names like the underground e.g. the Piccadilly Line, Northern Line would be more interesting? What local people / places / events could they be named after?

god only knows why there are line colours or why they feel the need to tell us... Apart from preventing us form reading the destination what is its use, the line has a number no ?

And those overgorund maps are one of the most useless artefacts created by First, they don't show half the line in Sheffield in general, and not half the lines First operate...
I also find those maps very partial as the bus stops are SYPTE, not First...

First also feels the need to put Overground maps on bus stops where the Overgorund does not go to...

Why the Overgorund, what is the advantage of that branding ? It's a bus no? Overground or not it's still ate, expensive, unreliable and unfrequent, whatever the 10 mins stickers they might put on the windows

Those are my two cents ;)

PS: come on! Claret? What kind of a colour is that?
PPs: First: Teaching British the name of unusual colours :p

They have clearly run out of primary colours..!

Talking of the First bus map. it gives the impression that Bradway only has a bus service in the evening, as the daytime service is the 25A. which isn't Overground branded, whearas the evening service, the 53, is!

Stupid waste of time, money and resources. And why have they changed the bus numbers again.

In the days of BR regional railways the local services in Yorkshire were colour coded and given a 'Brand' name Hallam line/Penistone etc. Our PTE don't use them any more just plain route SY1 to SY4 yet in West Yorkshire the colours and brand names are still used. However WY does have a bigger rail network.

On bus colour coding by First ... Why go to all that trouble of giving a route a brand then using that bus on a non branded route.Last week a bus in route 52 red line branding were operating on the 57/58 Stocksbidge evening service with just a piece of card stuck on the window!

The best is the revised 97 which is linked to new route 87 it has two colours!
Have you also noticed how First have have added 5 mins to the level service it brands as 'OVERGROUND' now 15minutes or better daytime service
