This is just a guess.

Your bath taps are a larger bore than your kitchen taps. It is possible that if your head tank is really high up in the apex of your roof, then the turbulance in your hot water cylinder might cause this noise.

Alternatively if you have a really small head tank or the ball cock is set too low, you could be sucking air into the hot water cylinder.

Just guesses ? ?

sorry if this comes across as highjacking your thread, but as people are reading it anyway....

i have a rather nice mixer tap in my kitchen, and when you turn the hot on (with or without the cold) the whole lot vibrates and makes the most appalling noise (like it's vibrating harmonically with the water) - how can i stop this? it's getting worse and it drives me bonkers!
