Hi, I know that a lot of people didn't like his show but whats on now is rubbish and Dud Bollard is c**p. So can can anyone tell me if he has been sacked or not.

last week Toby was ripping the p*** a bit about him getting sacked, but due to an indolent lifestyle I haven't listened to Toby so far this week

For what its worth, I can't imagine anyone could be worse than Jimmy Carol so that doesn't bode well...

Jimmy Carol has now moved to Saturday once again.

Bob Ballard (ex- BBC Radio Five Live) now presents 4-6pm and Phil Butler Jimmy's former producer takes over the 2-4pm slot for the time being.

Jimmy is excited by the new opportunity and BBC Radio Sheffield is celebrating the return of Bob Ballard with a good mixture of music, news and sport.

Saturday 12:00 - 1400 The Jimmy Carol Show
South Yorkshire's favourite scouser bringing you chat and good music.
www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire for more details

Every station refreshes it's line -up from time to time nothing sinister - no sackings!

I liked Bernie, it was great afternoon entertainment as we were working. We could'nt listen to Jimmy, no offence Jimmy if you are reading this, but it just did not work. We used to switch to Radio 2 or even Radio 4 for the afternoon play.
Hopefully things will have improved at BBC sheff so we will be back.

Bring back Cappo thats waht I say.

I'd agree.

But then Jimmy Carol always reminded me of a plate of beans exiting a cow's arse.

Due to RAJAR figures not being as good as they should, Carol was shunted to Saturday, not sacked, but certainly not happy about the move depite standard P.R.

Carol is a very good stand up, though a bully. His jokes are racist, homophopic, sexist, and pretty much anything 'ist'. He's your Bernard Manning for South Yorkshire. I've no problem with that, though I have with his radio style.

Whilst Bernard Manning is widley known for his politically incorrect style, Carol is not as widley known and listeners were in a sense duped, as Carol was putting on an act.

He masqueraded as a pious lovable everyman on Radio Sheffield. Something which when you see and meet him post club performance he is not, and very abrasive, particually now, since his "demotion" against Radio Sheffield staff, and his remarks on his shall we say older listeners.

I dont like Jimmy Carol or Bernie Clifton , I find them very old fashioned and boring. Toby Foster is more my style.

Yes, I agree with you there. Bernie was truly aweful in the weekday afternoon slot. But to be honest, at that time Radio Sheffield had bugger all management and were well and truly lost. He's well suited to Sunday PM, something easy going and he genuinely does it well.

Carol was and still is misplaced. If he has to be there, put him on after 10:00 pm for a phone in, his real views would certainly get the callers in, and it would make good radio (perhaps with a lot of complaints !)

I'm glad he's been moved to Saturday when I don't have to listen to him continually harping on about the Beeeetles and Liverpool (He lives in Derbyshire).

He's just like every other scouser, going on and on about Lime street and the Albert dock and how much they love the Mersey and what a great sense of humour everyone has but none of the buggers actually lives there!

Poor Jimmy only lasted 10mins at Carlton Social last night. He got into an argument with a father xmas look-a-like and stormed off stage. Thought he was gonna get lynched. Best joke of the night. Jimmy talking to 2 ladies sat on the front row. There are some beautiful girls in the club tonight. Turn round and look at them. Might have been only joke of the evening. Yes he's offensive, yes he needs the right audience, and yes, I will try to see him again. Wrong time wrong place Jimmy. Learn to handle the hecklers better. Suggest the sunshine coach was waiting.

Presenter on Radio Sheffield. His show is on air now. Also does a stand up comedy show at clubs, pubs etc. Read up about him before you see him live and may be offended by his material.
