As I have got someone coming to see me 2morrow and I wanted to know if its gonna be worth my time? photofanatic 06-12-2006, 12:08 AM Hi I have been an Avon rep for 15 years - it won't earn you a living but can be good for getting a bit of extra money. Its hard at first as you have to build your customer base - but if you persevere and don't give in - you need to give it at least 6 months then it will work for you. Afeter 15 years of doing it, all my customers know me well and either ring me or email me their order so I don't even go out to collect them! The secret is to be reliable - don't expect lots at first as peope will be skeptical about ordering from someone they don't know but if you go back regularly they will see you are committed and the orders will start to come. Remember, unless you can get an order in for the last one this year which in my area has just gone in, then it goes quiet for a time until about Feb. Hope this helps! Good luck Jane gem3641 11-12-2006, 10:29 PM How did it go with the Avon Rep??? Have you ever thought about Virgin Vie as an option??? I haven't published enough postsd to PM you but it could be an option!!! Let me know if you could be interested. I am a herbalife distributor and very impressed with the support and training given. Email me at sue.almond@googlemail.com for more info. jen13kd 01-01-2007, 11:11 PM I did it for 3 months and it was tough. They just chuck the total order in a big box (or several if you have a large order) in no order at all, all mixed up, not protected usually half of it missing or damaged. I'd never do it ever again or recommend it to anyone. kate55 03-01-2007, 12:22 PM I did it about 5 years ago for about 6 months. Its really not worth the money. I did loads of streets and spent hours delivering brochures and hours collecting them and ended up with approx £25 commission - thats on a lucky month. I decided to give it another go last year and delivered about 50 brochures and got approx 4 sales totalling £20. Dont think I received a penny commission as I had not sold enough. I swear I will never do it again. |
