I'm a bit out of touch, and would like to know if anyone remembers Patricia Crowther. I saw her speak at the Manor Library, and as I remember she was a very interesting lady.

Is she still with us? Is the lid still off the cauldron?

Yes Aunty Pat is still with us and still lives in the same house she has done for decades.

She isn't getting out as much as she used to. She did to a talk at the pagan federation conference a couple of years ago.
She is getting on a bit and I had heard she was a little ill from one of her old coven members. I am sure she will be stubborn enough to be around a little longer yet Rincewind.

Thanks for that Moon Maiden, it must have been around the late 70's, early 80's when I saw her last, but I'm glad to hear that she's still around.

I began to think of her when I had a request from an Australian friend in Brisbane who asked me for info about Wicca in England, and so I remembered her book.

I also vaguely remember her telling me that she met Crowley once.

I think she met alot of the occult crowd from that era being one of Gardners High Priestesses shehad quite a high profile and unfortunately is one of the less well known figures of his coven, probably because she still lives in Sheffield...unfortunately.

Just don't mention Alex Sanders to her lol

My nan used to know Pat in the mid 70's to about the eighties.My nan had a shop on city road and Pat was a regular customer,nan always spoke very highly of her and would be delighted to know that she is mentioned in a post on a sheffield website.I was only young but i think i remember her did she have very blonde hair?

I haven't seen her since her appearance at the Pagan Federation but I do believe her hair is Blonde.

Good to hear Pat's still alive and well. When I was at college in the early 80's, I did a project on witchcraft and I phoned Pat up to see if she would let me interview her, and she agreed. I went around to her house and she was captivating. Told me all about her association with Gerald Gardner and had a few choice things to say about Crowley, lol. I could have listened to her for hours.
