I've heard a rumour that Hot Chip are playing a DJ set in a bar somewhere in Sheffield next weekend. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, where and when its happening?

Its what use to be the Central Fire Station on Division Street nearish Fopp. Hot Chip are DJing on Thursday night for the grand opening.

Apparently the Mystery Jets are playing at bungelow and bears tomorrow night, has anyone been yet??? my mate went last night and said they having barking and growling noises played into the toilets thru speakers :suspect: he was drunk tho!!

I went last night, Hot Chip were pretty good and yes, your mate was right about the noises in the toilet.

The bar itself was pretty sweet - it's a lot like the Social in Nottingham if you've ever been to that. The drinks were a bit pricey, but not overly so - £2.80 for a pint of Peroni. The bar staff were pretty friendly too, and there were plenty of them too so no waiting at the bar.

Entry was free, tonight is indeed a Mystery Jet DJ set, plus the Fields are playing live as well - worth it just to marvel at the amazingly fit Icelandic singer, I shall definitely be attending!

I'm not sure, I got an email from Warehouse in MAnchester saying they're playing there this weekend. But I suppose they could do both!

Yeah, it's definitely a lot nicer, there's a line of seats down both sides with a suede finish, a booth thingy near the DJ box and a massive and slightly odd round sofa affair in the middle.

In terms of beers, I didn't really look hard but out of the lagers on tap there was Staropramen, Nastro Azzuro, Pauliner, a white beer (Leffe/Hoegaarden) and a few others.
