Does anyone else buy pet food/equiptment from Macro? I went today and ended up coming home with 48 felix pouches, 10 boxes of go cat and a lovely wicker basket with liner(£4.99!!!). So much cheaper to buy in bulk and really convenient too.

*looks for spare storage space and fails* ;)

Are you going to suggest a petfood buying consortium Sooz? :)

Im getting my own card in a couple of weeks so I have no problem buying for others with some kind of order system... except for the not driving thing, so if anyone wants to chauffer?! its somthing we could look into.

its not always cheaper. I used to buy Bakers from there and it was £17.99 and then the tax gets added on about £3.15, so all in all just over £21 i can get exact same back from asda for £21.99 normal price and £19.99 when they are having an offer. so it really depends on what you are buying, certain things like cat litter are a lot cheaper then shops.

I don't bother as unless there is a great deal in Makro mail, then it is just as cheap at asda. Infact the last time I looked at arthurs cat food,it worked out cheaper at asda.

Tinned food often works out much cheaper buying from Makro-when I was still feeding my lot tinned food we would get through 2 tins a day. You really need to be aware of prices in shops when you go in- I would frequently take a calculator with me so that I could work out the total price and the cost per can to compare with the supermarket.

I suppose it depends on what brands are on offer at the time you go. I know it worked out at around £4.00 for 12 tins of Arthurs, but it was only £1.80 at the supermarket for a pack of 6.

Ive thought about this. How do you get a card if youre not a business?

You cant. You have to work for a business in a position that would require you to shop there or be part of a charity.

When I worked for the civil service I got one through the union, so there must be another way.

Anyone??
