Hi there,

i have been looking at the threads on here and haven't noticed anyone with a classic escort (mark 1 or 2). as this is my area of interest, is there anyone on here who has one?

i also have an interest in cortina mk1/2 and anglia's etc, but anything pre 1980 is generally good!!

so, come on, lets have some more support for the blue oval!!

I think we used to have Mk2 (was a T reg) back in the early 90s was a good car. Didn't like the wet weather at all though.

Whats wrong with the 1980's Fords?

Thats when they started to get more complicated - the beauty of the earlier fords is that they have an engine with straight forward ignition - they're just so easy to work on!! no fancy gizmo's and sensors etc!!

plus, they all went front wheel drive (except for the sierras) which isnt for me - FWD technically killed the drifting rallying scene!! fords for me are all about letting the back end hang out!!

Well you would love our 1984 Sierra XR4i then. A hint of moisture in the air and the tail lets loose.

And as for complicated, our little 1980 Fiesta is so basic even I can work on it. You don't get much more basic than her.

Not bad at all. Needs a little work for its MOT but its pretty tidy. Haven't had a chance to drive it properly yet.
