I've seen a usb hotplate type thing that keeps a mug of coffee warm for ages so it's not beyond the realms of possibility. Have you tried www.iwantoneofthose.com (.co.uk?)

i remember seeing a cig lighter like the ones you get in cars but it wasnt usb it went on the front of the tower case like a cd rom
It's going to be a feature of the current sourcing ability of the USB port.
I think the coffee cup warmer relies on the Peltier (heat pump) effect rather than a heated element. The temperature needed is lower as well. I'm not sure whether a USB port would actually supply enough current to heat an element to red heat to light a cigarette.

I've seen loads of these internal one - http://www.clickonit.com/product.php?product=132069 but no USB. I think they will work on the 12V interal power. USB only carries low ampage 5V which I don't think will be powerfull enough for a lighter.

Heard it all now, I suppose you use a spare cd rom to put your cuppa on and your cordless mouse charger as an ashtray. :hihi: :hihi:
Ps tell your brother to stop nicking your lighter.

Why would you do that when you have a perfectly good USB ashtray (http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0191)? :hihi:

Forget lighters, you need this:
http://www.directusbstore.com/cnb/shop/directusbstore?productID=543&op=catalogue-product_info-null&prodCategoryID=28
On a serious note, this is a pretty good store for USB products, despite the cr*p in the gadgets section!
