Aside from most of the backstreet traditional pubs, does anyone know which of the so called "trendy" new bars stock this excellant beverage. It is not a fashionable drink any more except in Newcastle of course (even teenage girls drink the stuff there!), and I suspect may not be on offer on West Street/Division street. Any one know? Just so that on that rare trip to a "trendy" bar I know they will serve something other than rat-**** lager or alcopops. Tried to get some in Broomhill last night, and only the Broomhill Tavern seemed to stock it.

The Classic Rock Bar sells about 20 crates of the stuff every week! We also have a giant illuminated Newcastle Brown sign in the pub.

I once had it on draft in Christchurch in New Zealand - tasted rubbish - but worth it for the novelty value!!

Does anyone know where I can get a Newcastle Brown illuminated sign like the one in the Classic Rock Bar or maybe they would be willing to sell it? It's for my son's 21st Birthday present. Thanx.

Newcastle Brown enjoys moderate popularity in Connecticut. It sells for about $3.00 a pint, while Bud is usually $1.75

Years ago I found myself in Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory in Canada.

I went to a local bar and as soon as they realised I was a Brit the barman disappearaed and re-appeared with several bottles of Newcastle Brown 'on the house', which I was to be fed with all night.

I hate the stuff. :)

But in the interests of maintaining good international relations I drank it all and now have a positive aversion to all aspects of Newkie Brown from bottle shape to taste.... :)

How diplomatic of you Joe! My dad told me not to drink neccie brown because although he is a kind mild mannered man, when he drinks too much of it, it makes him want to fight people! Apparently it took him a while to work out that it wasn't the drinking that was the problem it was what he was drinking! Now hes a soft lager drinker he's a much nicer person.

I too have witnessed the power of the brown stuff, that stuff could turn Ghandi into a ball of agression!!

Anybody observed its medicinal effects?

If you ever have a case of the sh*ts , drink a otlle of that stuff and I garuntee it will soon be as solid as a rock!!

No Kidding!

I was nearly sacked from work for the smells which came out of my rear end, which could stop a charging bull elephant, cause newspaper to discolour and make other people in the office feel sick. This was only the result of 4-6 Newky Browns on a saturday might. I still drink it but only one bottle at a time.
If i haven't had some for a while it brings back all those old wap memories..

i sepnt four months in New England (mainly Maine) last year and on my se4cond night there i went to a party where they offered me Newcastle Brown to make me feel at home. Didn't have the heart to tell them i didn't like it. It seems to be quite popular over there.
