I'm coming to university on the weekend of the Ryder Cup, and I really need to find somewhere to watch it! Does anyone know where I am likely to be able to see it? I'm living in Tapton so somewhere near-ish would be preferable, but I'll go wherever I need to in order not to miss it. I haven't missed one since 1991 and don't intend to start now! Cheers.

I don't know of any place that will be showing full coverage. If your stopping at home then I suggest your best bet will be to watch it there if you have a TV.

I won't have personal access to SKY whilst I'm at uni, not this year in uni accommodation anyway. Maybe I'll have to try bribing some pub landlords!!

There is generally good coerage on the BBC. It won't be full coverage but it is normally decent.

Live, I need it live, all of it :) It's a bi-annual ritual.

Well, there is that Golf channel on sky but seen as you ain't access to sky perhaps Radio 5? They had broadcast live for the British Open recently.

It's only live on Sky, not the golf channel, all the more annoying that I have access to All sky channels at home and if uni started a week later I could sit and watch it all from the comfort of my own home :( Maybe I'll be able to find streaming over the net somewhere on some of the channels that I watch live premiership footy on.

At least Woosnam won't be playing in the cup. He'll probably walk in again when the going gets tough. :D

He's a miserable tool. Met him once at the B&H and he was in a right huff then too, he isn't ageing well! His temper is really bad. Don't even like watching him cos his whole demeaour is down in the dumps. Watching today's debacle was painful.

Must say our team are in great form, never known so many of the team appear on leaderboards so soon in the lead-up to the event. Donald, Levet and Jimenez have had superb seasons especially. Plus great for the English to have Westy, Howell, Poulter, Casey and Donald making up 5/12 of the team. Glad Monty is there too, I was at the Belfry in 2002 and his performance that week was one of the most sensational by an individual in the cup's history. Easy to see why some called it 'Monty's major'. I'd love him to still win won, but seems unlikely now :(

Do you remember that incident with the caddy when he packed too many clubs and cost him valuable ranking points and placings in a tournament

Woosnam's face was a picture. He was livid, pacing up and down. He decided to give the caddy another chance and a week later he either rolled in late or didn't turn up..something like that. :D

That was The Open no less, and he was in big time contention as well!! Yep he cocked up the next week as well, after which, unsurprisingly, he found himself unemployed! He'd been trying a different driver out on the range and forgot to take it out before teeing off if I remember correctly. Maybe it was a different putter (and god knows he's got through a few of them in his time!) but either way, 15 clubs equals go home!!

Cracking quote from Woosnam today: "The bank was too tightly mown; what are you supposed to do?". Erm, don't hit it there, Ian.

A very feeble excuse. It comes to something when your having to blame the course.

Back on the subject of the Ryder cup.

What a performance by Europe.

What about Woods? He just can't seem to produce it for the Ryder cup, can he?

His form does seem to have dipped, he seems content these days just to hit a drive on the fairway. :D

Well previously he had produced poor Ryder Cup performances during good individual years, which made his bad play at the ryder cup seem strange, whereas this time round he was playing horrible going in and has been for the most part for a good long while now. He needs to swallow his pride and go back to Butch.

I hear Sandy Lyle has shown 'enthusiasm' in captaining the Ryder cup side in the future. I suppose he is unlikely to salvage his playing career.
