:help: :help: I have a 2 a half year old shihtzu , who is nearly 3 months late with her season , she was mated in her last season but didnt take , so i have a free mating this time , does anybody no of anything what can make her come into season? she is usually regular as clock work but this time very late , the free mating what is owed to me , she is considering in rehoming him , so hence the reason i am getting very inpatient as you can undestand , just wonderd if anybody nos of anything for advice? thanks :help: :help: :help: :help:

My vet told me sometimes dogs can have a dry season,
and you miss it, same thing happened with one of my cavaliers,
we had her mated and nothing, then she didn't seem to have the next season, so we tried again at the next one and it still didn't work,
so we decided it wasn't meant to be.

Have a word with your vet, or I'm sure some one on here will
offer you advise.

She could have had a dry season that went unoticed or may just be an irregular breaker, which is not uncommon. One sure fire way of bringing on a season in a bitch is having her around other bitches in season. we had four in season together here, one of them a good 6-8 weeks earlier than she was due.
