AT LAST managed to source a games machine supplier who does pinball machines after 4 weeks of "sorry we dont do those any more, do you want a bandit, quiz machine or coffee/tea dispenser instead???"

Arriving next week at the Dove will be TWO classic pinball machines, not sure which ones yet but I cant wait to get my hands on them! When they are actually here and running I will re-post........probably have a pinball league running eventually......

X PINBALL WIZARDS IN SHEFFIELD...take note...we will be the ONLY pub in Sheffield Centre (AFAIK) to have pinball machines, (two of) and not computer game versions but the REAL THINGS!!!! 3 games for a £1, the classic price as well:thumbsup:

Karaoke! Woohoo! What greater entertainment could there be than watching fat, sweaty tone-deaf women squawking "I Will Survive" at deafening volumes?

Seriously, leave the karaoke to the council estate keg beer pubs; it doesn't belong in a proper pub.

I dont expect to have fat sweaty women squawking I WILL SURVIVE.....its ROCK KARAOKE!!

I am sure MAD MUZZ will be posting shortly to proclaim the vast benefits of rock karaoke in a real ale pub........I am expecting, shall we say the exact opposite of fat sweaty tone deaf women as you put it:thumbsup: And the first sign of the opening piano intro from I WILL SURVIVE will have me reaching for the Jack Daniels and the microphone to give my rendition of a certain death metal classic that shall, for the time being, remain a secret!

Well as you put it like that, I'm in favour. Time to practice my Napalm Death classics, I think.....

I also dont expect to hear squawking women doing the good old karaoke classic by Ms Gaynor :gag:

I do expect, nay, DEMAND that folks enjoy themselves by partaking of the fine real ales (if there is any left when im done :hihi: ) and then making a total arse of themselves by HAMMERING out some rock and annoying the chavs in the bankers - I know I will :headbang:

Polish Pyromaniac and fire ball juggler:thumbsup: ...not seen her for 3 weeks or so.....they often come in very unexpectedly at weekends and never seen her on a Monday to Thursday before...must brush up on my Polish a little:loopy:
...
and as to me singing, not very likely, as have to get the finishing touches done for our first band playing next week...stage lighting to sort out and other last minute jobs..plus regular external events start next week as well and have to organize other stuff....multitasking like crazy....I wont be drinking any of my own fine ales that night:( .......still cant get the video projector to work either so a lot of jobs to do.....

BUT, on that note, I do hear from a reliable CAMRA source that real ale in large quantities softens up the vocal chords and enables one to sing like a nightingale:We will have on HOBGOBLIN, BLACK SHEEP, CUMBERLAND ALE and probably SPECKLED HEN depending on weekend stocks.....

so anyone planning to come down Mondays, why not strike up a tune on the stage after a few delicious cask ales and let your hair down...

MUzz, forgot to tell you....NO DRINKING ON DUTY:hihi:

er....confused?....its the DOVE AND RAINBOW and NOT the DNR Bar!!!! Quite simple, DnR bar is on Arundel Gate, we are in Hartshead Square.

You know perhaps I should have changed the name back to the TUT N SHIVE and then no one would be confused?

Have just heard that the karaoke is going to be attended by a few forum members - one of them being KJ Venom, who was featured on SKY 3 last night in a documentary called "Britans hardest pubs"

I also know of 2 more well known DJ/KJ's who will be there.

And loads of decent ale as well......

Looks like being a fun night folks

There is a band playing from around 6, its not been publicised as such as it was only decided about an hour ago, so the 8pm start for karaoke may be slightly delayed......but it will be on top form I hope......all rock CROONERS welcome.....you get to sing on a stage!!!!

Don't forget pinball fans, Sheffield city centres ONLY pinball machines can be found at the Dove from TUESDAY 5th December........its been about 10 years since the Dove had pinball machines so it will be great to have them back. We will be changing the machines every 3 months or so with more classic machines, so come on down and do your pinball wizard thing......if you can get me away from the flippers!!!!

The machne with the car on the backboard is quite good ( is it runway/runaway??)
