When I look back at my posts on here I sometimes feel ashamed of some of the blather I contribute to the Forum.

I look back several weeks and most of the time I think "Did I really post that?"

I looked at my post count this morning and I am convinced another person must have written a good 50% of them whilst I was in a semi-conscious delusional state.

Do you look back at your own posts and feel the same about some of your contributions to the Forum?

I rarely need to look back because I KNOW that as a responsible adult and fairly regular poster on here that I never post anything thats not perfectly informative, sane, politically correct and oh god who the hell do i think im kidding?

I post crap because I like it! and if you seriously expect ME to feel guilt, then... think again... :D

Its only a forum, I think people who analyse everything they type have far too much time on their hands.

I honestly can't say I do shoeshine (maybe I should :hihi: ). However, I do know that you post some really good stuff as well.

I think its worth remembering that all posts on here (or at least the vast majority of them) are ephemeral and do not make a blind bit of difference to anything much. Thus the furious and earnest debates which take place on here probably don't change many minds either way and even if they did are not likely to change anything else (certainly not government policy). Posting on here is a recreational activity and we shouldn't take it too seriously.

Ay, tis so my good Earl Shoeshine, and t'was ever thus.
Thy blather doth disgrace thy posting,
And upon thy soul thy knowest this.
And true doest thou speak such wretched drivel,
As that of swine to goose or accursed serpant to cattle.
Yet, upon mine honour I doth sayest to thee,
cease thy scurolous ways,
repent thy sins
And like the bald man
curse thy foul ignoble flatus
and hold thy tounge for digniy's sake.

Any good posts made by "me" on here must have been made by that other "entity" I mentioned in the OP! :o

:hihi: For your information, Mantaspook, it's the "shoeshine" Ghost Writer who posts the favourable critiques of your work on the Writing Group, not me! :help: :o ;)

All the stuff I post is around 90% drivvel.

Apart from posts like this one, they're not informative at all.

I always think my posts are dreadful and cringe when I thnk about them so havng gone though all that when I do read them I find they are not as bad as I remembered. Seems to be a phobia I have about my posts.
So I'm cringing as I write this thinking you will think it all false modesty and I am going all coy.
But it's not.

Not sure I can post this but I will

I love it when you come home from the boozer, (drunk o course) and start replying to posts.

Wake up in the morning to check replies, and THEN you cringe.

If you want to read the master of drivel, read any of the posts by 'artisan'.
I can never understand what the bloke is on about to be honest.
He seems to have made drivel into some kind of art form.
