I've been to many places in my lifetime in Britain. Most of the major cities, many town and villages. None compare to this fine city of ours. You only have to drive down East Bank Road to see how completely beautiful our wonderful city is. The whole city is draped over the seven hills like a comfort blanket every time I see it.
The amount of greenery and tree lined streets are a wonder for all to see. Our supposedly grimey streets are covered with such trees that make it seem like the country than a city.
No other city can boast Fox House on the one end and the Blackburn Meadows cooling towers at the other. We should all take stock of living in the greatest city on the face of the planet with the friendliest down to earth people walking its streets.

Coincidentally I was over at Ox Stones and Houndkirk Moor yesterday with one of my lads and we both commented on the greenness as we looked across the city towards the north east. Its hard to imagine that there's a massive city in the valley. We couldn't see any area larger than a football pitch that didn't have trees or a large area of grass. And the air was so clear that we could even see five power stations on the horizon. By my reckoning these would have been Drax, Egborough, Ferrybridge, Barnby Dun and Torksey. The amount of greenery over towards Gleadless/Meersbrook and also down the Don Valley was unbelievable.

We should be very proud.
