(http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6178890.stm) VARB 23-11-2006, 22:42 Live by the sword die by it , it's a mucky old game being a spy . Hope he's now at peace . GSK 23-11-2006, 22:44 Or maybe he's alive and well, and been given a new identity ... VARB 23-11-2006, 22:45 Or maybe he's alive and well, and been given a new identity ... Good point . Meaks 23-11-2006, 22:48 Just like Myra Hindley... GSK 23-11-2006, 22:50 Don't understand the relevence of that comment Meaks. Care to shed some light? rubydazzler 23-11-2006, 22:52 Don't understand the relevence of that comment Meaks. Care to shed some light? There was a thread ..... LordChaverly 23-11-2006, 22:55 They still don't know what poisoned him. Apparently he had his last meal with some of his KGB ex-mates in London. My theory is that they all went to KFC for lunch (thinking it was the KGB's diner) and that he had the Extra Crispy Combo meal with Double Fries, which is always a risk. scarby 23-11-2006, 22:55 Bloody hell, I read in The Sun this morning that he was in serious pain, but thought he'd pull through. Ah well. :| GSK 23-11-2006, 22:57 There was a thread ..... ... about MH ? Sorry, didn't realise, new here. I'm sure everything is exactly as it seems, and nothing is amiss here. Move along. Nothing to see here. Meaks 23-11-2006, 22:58 They still don't know what poisoned him. Apparently he had his last meal with some of his KGB ex-mates in London. Don_Kiddick 23-11-2006, 23:20 It's all kiddology. whatever and whoever killed the poor muppet is irrelevant. It's the investigation of ''OTHER SOURCES'' linked by MFI or C2cv that want ''investigating'' thats the REAL issue now. Just like the lookalikes that died for Di n Dodi... Whoops! I've said too much donkey 24-11-2006, 00:15 Our media are at pains to point out that Putin would never risk the 'diplomatic fallout' involvced in the murder of such a 'small player.' I wonder will they start to wheel out all those 'security experts' who haven't been seen since their super confident claims that the Madrid train bombs were 'clearly the work of ETA.' As the BBC are so keen to convince us that it wasn't Putin, (he's sitting on an awful lot of gas we might need soon, you know) I'm going with the straightforward theory that it was Putin. Other factors that convince me are that most the Russians who've been interviewed seem to think it was Putin - they might know a thing or two about Russia - and the circumstantial evidence that Putin is a psychopathic megalomaniac who has shown no compunction about killing anyone who gets in his way or digs up dirt on him. shells2909 24-11-2006, 12:17 Or maybe he's alive and well, and been given a new identity ... Exactly what i thought too!! BasilRathbon 24-11-2006, 12:31 Shame he didn't survive - he could have started a new career as a Gail Porter lookalike. Kingmaker2 24-11-2006, 15:52 Firstly condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Alexander Litvinenko. I think that jokes at this time are uncalled for, remember a man has just suffered a drawn out unpleasant death. A very sad event indeed. JoeP 24-11-2006, 15:57 Mod Note I have to agree with Kingmaker - please show some respect. Darbees 24-11-2006, 16:00 Firstly condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Alexander Litvinenko. I think that jokes at this time are uncalled for, remember a man has just suffered a drawn out unpleasant death. A very sad event indeed.I don't want to be too rude but why do you post condolences to a Russian spy on a public forum in Sheffield England? Do you do that for the bereaved or for yourself? JoeP 24-11-2006, 16:10 I don't want to be too rude but why do you post condolences to a Russian spy on a public forum in Sheffield England? Do you do that for the bereaved or for yourself? Just leave it, please. The guy's dead, it was a pretty public death, show some basic human respect. Gadgetgirl 24-11-2006, 16:25 His death has highlighted one fact, despite Capitalism the KGB have not gone away. Once he turned on his 'masters his days were numbered but at least their murky ways have increased public awareness. LordChaverly 24-11-2006, 16:45 Apparently it has just been discovered that he died from radiation poisoning, in the form a a substance called polonium 210. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=418430&in_page_id=1770 TeaFan 24-11-2006, 17:33 Putin's enemies seem to be getting killed one by one. But Europe depends on Russian gas, so none of our glorious leaders are going to make too much fuss about it. Global warming aside, Pooty-Poot is the single best argument for renewable energy. Gadgetgirl 24-11-2006, 17:39 seems the stuff is not 'off the shelf' either, takes quite a organised process to produce it, so really blows the 'accidental' infection suggestion out of the water. I see Putin's not commented on it ;) Kingmaker2 24-11-2006, 17:53 Apparently it has just been discovered that he died from radiation poisoning, in the form a a substance called polonium 210. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=418430&in_page_id=1770 Well that's what the experts think it might be, but the briefing given by the radiation protection experts broadcast on Sky News earlier this afternoon didn't give 100% confirmation that it was polonium 210, just that they suspect it was. LordChaverly 24-11-2006, 19:49 Well that's what the experts think it might be, but the briefing given by the radiation protection experts broadcast on Sky News earlier this afternoon didn't give 100% confirmation that it was polonium 210, just that they suspect it was. It now appears to have been confirmed that Polonium was indeed found in his urine. This may not be good news for the restaurant on Abbeydale road with the same name. Hopefully, there is no connection between the two, otherwise we might find that the house speciality is Isotope soup, followed by Strontium 90 Goulash, with a nice piece of yellow cake for dessert, washed down with sparkling heavy water - a guaranteed fat-free diet  http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2470023,00.html peterw 24-11-2006, 20:55 Poloni is Red so yes, definitely the Ruskis. Could be the Italians though. Just add the ‘um’ and it’s there in Latin. Elementary my dear whatsisname. Kingmaker2 24-11-2006, 21:21 It now appears to have been confirmed that Polonium was indeed found in his urine. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2470023,00.html Whilst not trying to pick holes on a tragic day for the Litvinenko family it seems that the world's media don't seem to listen and inaccuratley report briefings. Reuters state : "Professor Roger Cox, a radiation expert at the UK's Health Protection Agency, said polonium 210, a radioactive isotope, had been discovered in the body of the former KGB agent" http://today.reuters.co.uk/tv/videoStory.aspx?isSummitStory=false&storyId=826a8f1f2e09e1eb503c357b842a896a5f2c9452&WTmodLoc=NewsArt-R4-WatchVideos-2 Not completely accurate, watch the clip and what Prof. Cox actually says was that " large quantities of Alpha radiation had been detected in the urine of Mr. Litvinenko "probably" due to Polonium 210." artisan 24-11-2006, 21:32 I wonder if Abromovich is getting nervous, isnt he under something of a cloud with Vladimir? :suspect: |
