Can i first thank the good people of Reading for voting with their bottles when the notorious sexist/homophobe rapper 50 cent came on stage.http://www.nme.com/news/109703.htm (http://)

Both 50 Cent and The Rasmus were bottled off at reading confirming Readings status as one of the toughest gigs in the world. The Latter for being crap and the former for being.... well .. 50cent.

Do you think this is justified? Or do you think that as they are our guests in the UK we should be more civilised?

i dont think the The Rasmus should have got bottled off stage 50 cent it wasnt like they were playing last. 50 cent played before greenday and after placebo they should have played on a different stage or alot earlier in the day!

Well tbh I always guessed something like that would happen...why the hell was he there? Especially as a headline act! 'Tards.

they are awful but I don't think they deserved to have things thrown at them when all they are trying to do is entertain...

i think 50 cent deserved. i hate him, i dont like this image that a lot of rappers have where they are "da gangsta in dat" and cant write a song without mentioning there "hos" or "nine mm". its the fact that people are more obssessed with the fact that "he got shot 9 times" than about his music.

good riddance hope he never comes back

I don't think either of them should have been bottled off! Everyone knew before they bought their tickets who was on the line-up, so why didn't they just go to another stage and watch someone else? Or if people wanted a good spot for a band coming on after the mentioned acts then they should have just put up with it.

I don't think it's fair for anyone to be bottled, 50 cent or not!

this isn't the first acse of missiles being thrown at concerts or gigs.

I remember hearing about Marilyn Mansion getting upset over the behaviour of fans iat Glasgow Barrowlands. From what I heard it was the mosh pit that upset them.
I also remember at Donnington large missiles containing urine being hurled on stage.
Perhaps 50 cent would have preferred them!

Not sure whether any of this justifies the behaviour though.

I remember Daphne and Celleste got bottled off a few years ago. I really don't see why Mean Fiddler booked such acts. It's pretty obvious Leeds/Reading goers aren't gonna want to see Gansta' 50 Cent.

long long history of people being bottled off at Reading (much worse when there was only one stage of course).

watch it happen here! http://www.jonsmith.plus.com/fifty_cent_bottled_reading04.mpeg

Ah, them were the days, when Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love reaction got so riled by the bottling (the gig was cack) that the Great Zod actually dropped his fake-o US accent and starting telling the crowd off. Before he got a plastic cider bottle on the nose and left......

By the second day, the Hell's Angels had managed to put a stop to it, just in time for Dumpys Rusty Nuts

Maybe 50 cent would rather have gone off stage after a barrage of anti-aircraft fire in his general direction - not very 'cred' being pelted with partially full Evian bottles!

I don't agree with pelting him off stage, he is a performer, thats all some will like him some not. The benefits being that if you don't then don't pay to go and see him and his 'hoes'

Additionally however, if he is sexist, and homophobic - if thats such a great problem for the majority of people, then maybe he wouldnt be enjoying his stardom and Mi££ions. Just goes to show that although its okay to slate him for his views (to which he is entitled) there are many more people out there willing to listen.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Britain always seems to me, to be marketed as a 'tolerant' society. That being of course somewhat different to being in full acceptance.

Full of what though - that's the funny thing!

Just watched the video clip - absolutely hilarious! There were literally thousands of bottles flying through the air!

Could it be that the people who bottled 50cent off-stage turned up specifically to do just that rather than listen to his act, decide it was crap and then bottle him off-stage. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the case as anyone who puts on a sexist, homophobic act deserves to be treated as such and should expect nothing less when appearing to such a wide audience.

He was probably just target practice and the crowd used him as a way to vent any frustrations they may have had due to a bad day or whatever. Shame they couldn't put the little scrote in the stocks and had a proper go.

I feel sorry for the actual fans who like 50 cent and had parted with a lot of money to see him and were probably very annoyed and dissapointed by the act being cut short.

50 cent deserves all the bottling he got.

Was anyone else at Reading Festival in the early 90's when after a particularly bad spell of mud flinging from the crowd, Donita Sparks from L7 (the all girl grunge group) decided to throw her used tampon back at the crowd!

Yeah one of the lucky punters would have kept it. It was really muddy that year, and Nivarna headlined when kurt Coban came out in the wheelchair.

I have just spoken to a friend who was at reading festival, and he says that they were peeing into bottles just so they could throw them at 50 cents (or 50p as he called him).
