View Full Version : Change of homepage help needed terryh 18-11-2006, 09:26 i have just got rid of virus of my computer but my homepage still refuses to stay on blueyonder i keep going to internet options and changing it back to blueyonder but to no avail JoeP 18-11-2006, 10:28 It sounds like you still have some 'Adware' on your PC that is making the change for you. Take a look in our FAQs - there's a list of sites there about sorting out computer problems and I'm pretty sure you'll find teh answer there. Alternatively, there are some VERY knowldgeable people on here who will probably be able to help. Best of luck. neutronium 18-11-2006, 12:56 Had the same problem last week. Found the adware, had added its homepage to my favorites list. Even though i had cleaned my system of it. See if you can see it listed in your favorites, then delete it. Work ok for me, but every adware is different. Good luck. GraZ 18-11-2006, 21:47 Sounds to me like a browser hijacker, get a free copy of Avast anti-virus and run a proper scan of your system, you'll possibly have a trojan or just a program forcing the homepage to change. If that doesnt work, poke around your start up processes's to find anything unusual and delete them in safe mode. s10sys 19-11-2006, 10:19 Download "Spybot Seek and Destroy", install and run a full scan. This should find and remove the offending spyware/malware. Once you've got rid of it consider changing your web browser to Firefox, this is much safer than internet explorer and you won't get any more spyware. melthebell 19-11-2006, 10:24 spybot search and destroy also has an anti browser hijacker section http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html fnkysknky 19-11-2006, 13:12 If the above suggestions don't work then download HijackThis from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php Run it and then put the log file through a HijackThis log file analyser such as http://www.hijackthis.de - if you still have the problem after that then post the log file on here and I'll have a look when I get a min. terryh 19-11-2006, 15:26 thanks all i will try the suggestions |
