probably to big themselves up!
I`m a bit to honest for my own good sometimes, my gob can get me into trouble, tend to say what i think and some people don`t always like the truth!

Because it's more fun than truth. I'd like to explain further but Kylie's calling me back to bed and this time she's brought her sister with her.......

In my experience it's all about ego.

We all have an ego, but some like to over inflate theirs.

People who need to over inflate their ego are quite probably a little insecure about who or what they are.

I need to go now because my skyrocket is about to launch and we have to be on the moon before nightfall.

Because the truth can get you in trouble. This trouble can be averted by lying.

Example: No officer, I have never seen this woman before and I don't even know where they live.

Because it's more fun than truth. I'd like to explain further but there's the sound of a paper-mache head being struck by a Meerschaum pipe coming from next door's bedroom and it's putting me & Dannii off our "stroke"

I dont know the answer to this one. I asked my 48 gorgeous twenty something girlfriends and they sort of just ignored me. They were all trying to make themselves look beautiful for me later tonight in the hope it would be their turn.

That's because the truth is subjective. We don't always like someone else's version of the truth. It's not like you can't tell by the various threads on the SF...

Because the truth is often dull.

In London, lying has been replaced by euphemism. For example.

"I chilled out last night" = "I watched Corrie"

"We did a few bars on the Northcote" = "We went to a pub quiz in Clapham, then next door for last orders"

"My date took me to the New Nobu Venture" = " I went with a mate from work to Ubon cos it was buy one get one half price"

"I just love Persian food" = "We stopped off for a kebab in Green Lanes after the pubs closed"

"I just love the Bermondsey vibe - its the new Notting Hill" = "I cant afford to buy anywhere better"

"Its great where we live, so multicultural. I love mixing with different races" = "our postman is black"

Sorted.

Example: 'I will be contacting head office. Your name is...?'
'Sarah'
'Why does your badge say 'Karen' then?'

Some people don't lie. They're tactful or too polite.

"What is a great restaurant?"
"That one over near the river, X is the name. It's great. We love it."
"I've just been to that one, it's really bad. Why didn't you tell me that it was serving meat dishes only ?"
"Oh, I didn't know that you're a vegetarian. We like their steaks, that's why we go."

"Oh, it's not that bad. We still like it." - Don't want to appear rude or unappreciative.
