View Full Version : The Chocador...my hero!
As some of you may know, The Chocador has got a reputation round these parts for being a pain in the butt! So I'd like to redeem him a bit by telling you of his latestst exploit.
I was in the kitchen, the washer was on spin, the extractor was on and so was the microwave. I couldn't hear a thing.
Suddenly the chocador sprang to his feet. Now he is a nuisance , but as a rule he is a dog of few words, but on this occasion he was woofing furiously. He ran to the front door with me in hot persuit. It turned out that the love of my life (aged nearly 4) had managed to unlock the door and was in full conversation with someone who happened to be approaching. Luckily it wasn't the childcatcher, but a nice lady delivering the gazette. But the Chocador wasn't taking any chances.....
What a hero
I'm glad to hear that he has redeeming features (not that I ever doubted that he had them)- and I'm glad that he's shown how much he pays attention and watches over your family.
You can guard in many ways- it's good to hear that his sort has looked after your little one today.
Mind you, he still ran round the park with a maggot infested dead rat later on, so he's still in the bad books!

:hihi:
Sounds just like my spotty idiot :P
She has redeeming features too - once barked the house down when our 80 odd year old next door neighbour was on all fours on the pavement outside. Alerted me to him falling, only for me to find out that he turns his water off everytime he goes out :loopy:
...he turns his water off everytime he goes out :loopy::roll: have they taken all the knives away yet? ;)
Beagles are renowned for being docile, on a 'come in, the fridge is this way, let me help you eat that' kind of way  but Brude still suddenly develops fangs and the deepest bark you couldn't imagine from such a small hound  when anybody clatters down a hotel corridor too noisily, and I might need protecting from them
TattyBear 17-11-2006, 11:37 I have a chocy lab aswel! and a golden one, they are fabulous pets!

Is your choccy a bit naughty? Mine is. He's 14 months old now and just starting to calm down a bit. He's only recently started giving hugs out. He was too busy looking for mischeif before!
KATIEB_23 17-11-2006, 13:06 Haha scoop what a character he sounds! Well done him

There must be some Beagle in gadget then...
Although he wouldn't even be that helpful, more like "Ooh good is that a complete stranger walking in to stroke me?! Lovely! I'm rather comfy so I'll just stay right here on this sofa and you can come to me..."
TattyBear 17-11-2006, 13:31 Is my choccy a bit naughty?.............thats an understatement. In a fuuny way though! She is funny with it!
Molly is 18 months old and has shown no signs of calming down! She is like a kid after 10 packets of smarties and 20 cans of coke!
technophobe 18-11-2006, 11:15 I had a chocolate lab as a child. he was named Dini, short for whodini (that bloke who used to get out of chains/tight spots) anyway his name really suited him. He took up residence at our house in Millhouses when I was about 6yrs old, apparently being left by his owners who had emigrated. Anyway he had obviously been living on the streets before and when we first got him he would always escape twice a day going to the same houses to be fed (labs are really really greedy!) and then return a short time later. He would wait at the pelican crossing to cross the road and would sit outside the butchers with doe eyes waiting for a bone. He was completely self sufficent. We used to dress him up in nappies and put him in a pram wheeling him around Millhouses Park. He was the most adorable dog ever and would protect us to the hilt.
Isnt it lovely when dogs come into you life from nowhere and give you lots of unconditional love and affection.
AINT DOGS GREAT!!!!!!!! ;-)
Here's he fearsome guard dog, ready to spring to our defence at any moment:
