hi
I am having some Italian friends over this weekend
I would like to cook them something really Italian
(We are doing English roast on the Sunday :) )
I have main course fixed but need antipasti things for starters
Can anybody recommend a real deli to get things like this please?
Pref in S11 or nearby
I know Nonnas have one but have never been
Is this any good?
The more authentic the better
Thanks
Deepak

If you wait until you get twenty opinions, they will all say the same. ^^^ And when you go, stop and have a cup of Sheffield's best coffee while you're at it.
Sandwich shop / deli at Ranmoor.
Run by Atillo, I think he's Italian!
food is gorgeous, loads of ingredients as well to make your own. It's all proper sourced stuff, not cheap supermarket wannabes.
It's a shame I just came across this now. In the Continental market, there was anti-pasti sold. Though, I don't think that they would be cheaper than Nonnas' or Bragazzi's. They usually charge above market rates.
Can't suggest a deli other than what's been written. The only other idea is to check out the foreign food section in 24 Tescos or Waitrose. Maybe Waitrose has a bigger deli section. They do stock a more varied range. Also check out what is available now as Christmas stock in department stalls like Coles.
I've not been there yet, but Cosco would usually have foreign food stock too. But, you need membership.
I'm a Bragazzi's fan too- I don't think there's anywhere else that comes close.

Has to be Bragazzi's. Nowhere comes close as medusa says - and it's a great place to stop for a lovely cup of coffee and biccies and all manner of lovely things. Great atmosphere, and nowhere near as poncey (can I say that?) as Nonnas.
There is a mini campaign to get it open in the evenings. Last I heard they were having trouble getting a licence from the council.
