Just been looking on sheffield 1's website and they're talking about turning the beautiful bulilding ( I've always thought it was the nicest buliding in the city centre) into a "quality "134-bedroom hotel, 37 apartments around a small private courtyard, a comedy/live entertainment venue, café-bars, good restaurants and a health and fitness club... Which is an excellent thing as I could never understand why the buliding had been empty for so long.. But it says the work will start early 2003!!! What happened??? Anyone knows??

there's going to be a hotel there as well I think.....Remember we are on council time here....

Oh no!! Why the hell would they have dropped out?? it was an ideal location, and its a rare beautiful building in the city... Are there any other plans??

Of course it does!! Have you seen the state of the grotty grovesnor hotel?? I worked there 2 years ago as a waiter and all I kept getting was complaints about the hotel, and how terrible value it was... We've only got average hotels, and they don't look very attractive... If you read any guides about Sheffield, I don't think they recommend any hotels in Sheffield... Why do you reckon Sheffield is so unpopular amongst tourists??!!
