Anyone know anywhere in Sheffield that, well, hires ball dresses as the subject says?

Not dead fancy ones, just something that you could wear to a formal dinner then dance thing. I don't think I can afford to buy a suitable one that I'll just wear once.

Pronuptia on ecclesall road have a dress hire bit upstairs.

There is a wide range of styles and sizes, and range in price. There are some scary fussy sparkly numbers that you have to wade thru, but there are some nice ones hidden amogst them.

The nicer ones are about £50.00 to hire.

Sheffield University has a hir centre for tuxes and gwons, not sure about prices or if you have to be a student however.

I am told (not for my own purposes, you understand! :) ) that there is (was?) a place on Junction Road at Hunters Bar (opposite the Junior School) that do this kind of thing. Don't know if it is still there though.

I just bought a great one from House of Fraser, from their own label "Vila" and without sounding cheap it was a bargin, what ball are you going too?

I'm not going to one until Christmas hehe, planning ahead somewhat. Was a bit bored this morning so thought I'd ask. It's a posh ball at my boyfriend's work, chartered accountants official doodah. I'm not sure to be honest I was just told that the outfit I wore for my graduation wouldn't suffice :s

I will look at buying one but I did that for my 6th form leavers ball and never wore the silly thing again.
